Love him, (or) hate him, Jason Whitlock of The Kansas City Star and FoxSports.com creates dialogue with his columns. I find Jason on the wrong-side of the fence on subjects such as Don Imus, The Jena Six, and Hip-Hop’s ruining of the black community, but his opinions cause others to exchange ideas, something that can’t be said for the majority of sportswriters.

Shaq Secures 75 Grand For The Tempe Police Department

Shaquille O’Neal was brought to Phoenix to deliver the Suns a championship, but we’ll have to wait until next year to see if he can make good. The early playoff exit this year has given O’Neal time to brush up on his police work. First duty: Get the people of the Pascua Yaqui Reservation to give $75,000 to the Tempe Police Department.

The Tempe PD applied for a 75k grant from the tribe after Shaq and Pascua Yaqui chairman Peter Yucupicio became buddies. The money will be used to help begin a new Internet Crimes Against Children Unit in Tempe. Read the rest of this entry »
