One of the stories that gained momentum leading up to the 2009 NBA Draft was Stephen Curry’s want to play for the New York Knicks. Curry gushed over Mike D’Antoni and his system anytime he was asked about the possibility of being drafted by NY. There was only roadblock to Stephen’s dream: The Golden State Warriors. And young Mr. Curry didn’t seem happy to hear them call his name seventh, one spot ahead of the Knicks’ selection.

I swear it looked like David Stern said “Damn, sorry about that Steph.” And then Curry gave him the “Well, what you gonna do?” shoulder shrug. Stephen was one pick away from ending up in a dream situation for him. Now he gets to join the Warriors mess. I can tell you where he won’t be in five years.
