Manny Pacquiao knocked out Ricky Hatton Saturday night at the MGM in Las Vegas, retaining his IBO light welterweight title and fueling talks of a super bout between Manny and Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Manny dropped Ricky three times, twice in the first round, and solidified his standing as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Pacquaio spoke with ESPN after the fight and said he can fight anybody and that he’ll fight at 140 or 147.
Earlier in the day Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced that he’s officially coming out of retirement and he’ll take on Juan Manuel Marquez on July 18. If Floyd wins that fight boxing it sets up a match with Pacquiao for true pound-for-pound supremacy. I’d set Manny as a 2-1 favorite.
