Tiger Woods played the third round at the 2010 U.S. Open as if he had stepped out of a time machine into the year 2000. After falling nine shots behind the leaders Tiger sank eight birdies on his way to a five-under 66. He finished the round trailing by four shots as the leaders started their back nine.
Tiger birdied 16 and 17 and gave himself a chance at an eagle on the par-5 18th hole with an incredible second shot. He cut his three-wood around a tree and onto the green from 273 yards away. It’s too early to say he’s back but for a day Tiger was his old, best golfer in the world self.
