THE NFL IS SMARTER THAN THE AFL

As NFL hopefuls try to impress scouts by running, jumping, and lifting weights, their minds will be tested as well. The players will be given the Wonderlic test, which has been called a short form intelligence test. I don’t think it reflects how a player will do in the NFL, but it’s supposed to show how players problem solve, primarily in tense situations.

The Australian Football League is testing it’s new players in a similar way. The AFL has put together an “educational” dvd, hoping to teach rookies how to behave in a variety of situations. To say that the NFL test is harder than the AFL test wouldn’t be saying enough. Here are some sample Wonderlic questions. The AFL test features questions like these:

  • If you’re a man wandering along a darkened corridor at a party and a woman calls you into her room thinking you to be her boyfriend do you a) pretend to be him and get into bed with her or b) walk away?
  • You are in the company of a woman who has had too much to drink do you a) get her a glass of water b) call her a taxi or c) take her home for sex?
  • Upon walking into the room where your friend and his girlfriend are having sex you a) stay and watch or b) not watch and walk away?

If you answered A-C-A, you’re an idiot. The answers are all of the above, all of the above, and A.. Think about it..
