Terrell Owens Says Dallas Cowboys Will Flip The Switch
August 19th, 2008 | by HG |
The Dallas Cowboys are 0-2 in the preseason and have been outscored 54-30. The offense has looked sluggish, and the Tony Romo to Terrell Owens connection isn’t clicking. According to Cowboys’ head coach Wade Phillips the starters can expect to play into the second half of the team’s third preseason game on Friday against the Houston Texans.
Terrell Owens takes the approach that most people take when it comes to the preseason. It doesn’t matter. Owens believes the first team hasn’t played together enough, and all of the problems will be worked out by the season opener.
“We’ll be fine once the season starts. I promise you. I mean you can never really get a full or a great assessment just by playing a few plays here, a quarter. Once the pre-season is over, I think it’s almost like another switch is turned off and another one is turned on. We can’t really gauge by how the season may go just by the way the pre-season goes.”
I have to agree and disagree with TO. I agree that you can’t always judge a team by how they play in the preseason. We’ve seen time and time again that teams with bad preseason records can have good regular seasons and vice versa. Unfortunately for Owens and the ‘Boys, the next switch flipped will be by another camera crew that’s covering this team like they’re the Cowboys of the 90s.
