Aroldis Chapman defected from Cuba in July while playing in a baseball tournament in the Netherlands. The 21-year-old was able to bypass the amateur draft and is now a free agent in Major League Baseball. And oh yeah, he throws 100 mph.
As expected the New York Mets and Yankees along with the Boston Red Sox are interested in Chapman. The Los Angeles Angels are throwing their hat in the ring too. It’s a nice gesture but I don’t see Artie Moreno ponying up the Mets-Sox-Yankees type of cash.
