• The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired Jon Gruden after seven years of service

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen today bringing Chucky’s seven year tenure to an end. Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer offered the following:
“We will be forever grateful to Jon for bringing us the Super Bowl title, and we thank Bruce for his contributions to our franchise. However after careful consideration, we feel that this decision is in the best interest of our organization moving forward.”
Gruden delivered a Super Bowl victory for Tampa Bay, but his career record with the team was only 57-55. Tampa dropped their final four games of the season, missed the playoffs, and ultimately cost Gruden his job.
The move comes as a huge surprise to me, but I’m guessing the Bucs have something lined up if they’re willing to axe Jon Gruden. I wonder how Bill Cowher will look in the Tampa Bay colors.

How long before we know his plan? I watched the news conference, and he wouldn’t talk about it. Says he has one! What’s the plan for offense and defense? Would like to know soon./Cool widgets at statbeast.
