The Los Angeles Lakers stomped the Phoenix Suns 121-102 at the Staples Center in a battle of Pacific Division leaders. Steve Nash had 13 points and five assist in 24 minutes which led him to take out his frustration on referee Violet Palmer. The rumor about the Phoenix Suns trading Shaquille O’Neal to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Sasha Pavlovic and Ben Wallace is now a reality. On Thursday night LeBron James won in Phoenix for the first time, killing the Suns’ playoff hopes in the process. James also picked up his third consecutive triple-double and had incredible blocks on attempts by Leandro Barbosa and Jason Richardson.

As his career nears its end an impressive 16 years after it started, Shaq has been able to enjoy a public revival in both his game and his image, putting up numbers this year (18 points, 9 rebounds & nearly 2 blocks a game in only 30 minutes) that are higher than in recent memory and treating fans everywhere to his trademark antics along the way. At the end of the Phoenix Suns’ practice O’Neal showed of his soccer skills by playing keeper while his teammates took penalty kicks. Leandro Barbosa faces off against Shaq in the video.
Shaquille O’Neal is ballin’ like he spent the summer swimming in the Fountain of HGH Youth; averaging 18 points and nine boards and not playing like the washed up center he looked like last season. The Big O’Nealovich dropped 29 on the Washington Wizards on Monday including a nice 9-10 from the free throw line, and was feeling so good about his performance that he kissed Caron Butler.
