The Philadelphia Eagles did their part in the Philly-New York war with a 40-17 victory over the New York Giants. Big Blue got on the board late in the first half to make the score 16-7, but the Eagles scored two touchdowns in the final two minutes for a 30-7 halftime lead. One of those two touchdowns was a McNabb-to-Jackson 54-yard connection. DeSean Jackson’s moves were so tight he made a referee fall over the 18-yard line, right before chest bumping Eagles coach Andy Reid. Read the full story

I didn’t realize until I read The 700 Level that today is the six-year anniversary of Brian Westbrook saving the Eagles’ 2003 season with a late, late game punt return. Philly trailed the Giants 10-7 at the Meadowlands with 1:16 left in the fourth quarter and their record at 2-3. Then Westbrook got loose and all was good. Read the full story

The Oakland Raiders handed the Philadelphia Eagles their annual bad loss that starts the “Get rid of Reid and McNabb talk.” People will throw dirt on Philly but they’ll work their way into the playoff mix by the end of the season. It’s the Andy Reid way.
The odds makers set the line at 15, and the Giants started the day by losing to the Saints. Everything looked good for the guys in green right? Wrong. Philly should’ve known the gods were smiling on the Raiders when a pigeon lined up for Oakland on a kickoff. Read the full story

The talk all week for the Philadelphia Eagles was about Michael Vick playing in his first game since the dogfighting scandal, and McNabb and Westbrook being banged up. DeSean Jackson received a little attention because he’s nursing a sore groin, but once the game started it was all about D-Jack. He racked up 149 yards on six catches including a 64-yard catch, run, and flip for a touchdown. Read the full story
