Comedian Kevin Hart and Shaquille O’Neal are tight. It goes back to O’Neal’s days with the Lakers. Hart recently passed through Cleveland on tour and after his show he spent a few minutes with the Cavaliers. JJ Hickson is simply a member of King James’ court but he played like royalty Thursday night against the visiting Orlando Magic. LeBron setup JJ for two dunks (an alley-oop in the first quarter and a sweet bounce pass in the fourth) and Hickson slapped a Dwight Howard shot against the backboard to start a LeBron-driven fastbreak. LeBron James is still chasing Kobe Bryant for the title of “Best Player in the NBA.” Not only does Kobe have the rings but his game is evolved beyond LeBron’s. That doesn’t mean The King won’t try to match the Mamba highlight for highlight. Kobe hit an incredible over the backboard shot against the Thunder in November. LeBron James has everything a 25-year-old on his way to being a billionaire could want except for a Rolls-Royce Phantom so Shaquille O’Neal laced him with one for his birthday. The King then treated himself to a birthday party at Barroom in Cleveland. It didn’t reach Eric Dickerson party status but it looks like LBJ and the fam had a good time. I didn’t like the Kobe Bryant and LeBron James puppets when Nike first started using them in commercials. The voices seemed lame and the ads were boring. But they started growing on me when Lil Dez was introduced, and now that KRS-ONE is voicing the rapping Santa I’m hooked. “Dunking on Reindeer” is sure to be the winter jam. Read the full story

The New Jersey Nets were on their way to another defeat when the team suffered an unexpected loss. Devin Harris fouled Jamario Moon of the Cleveland Cavaliers with a clothesline on a breakaway. LeBron James immediately got in Harris’ face and Shaquille O’Neal worked his way into the mix. Neither player checked on the fallen Moon. The referees gave Harris the boot. Read the full story

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers visited the Knicks on Friday, bringing out the stars to the Garden. Jay-Z, Chris Rock, CC Sabathia, and Alex Rodriguez were all there to watch the King.
