The Washington Redskins are a disaster on and off the field. The team’s condition has brought Hall of Famers John Riggins and Joe Theisman to exchange words. Since they’re in ‘Wait ’til next year’ mode the Skins have nothing left to do but quit on their coach and start sideline brawls.
The quitting on the coach is already in progress from management and player standpoints. The sideline fighting went into effect after LaRon Landry late hit Falcons QB Matt Ryan out-of-bounds. Pushing and shoving followed with Ryan calmly pulling Landry away from the situation.. He should have grabbed DeAngelo Hall. The BYU Cougars upset no. 3 Oklahoma 14-13 in the first college football game played at the new Cowboys Stadium. Sooner QB Sam Bradford injured his right shoulder near the end of the first half when BYU’s Clausen drove him into the turf. After the hit the game was over in Norman and the party was on in Provo. David Wright of the New York Mets saved the United States’ baseball ass with a bases-load walk-off single against Puerto Rico Tuesday night in the World Baseball Classic. Too bad Wright and the Mets don’t come through in the clutch like this in September or October.
The Baltimore Ravens advanced to the AFC Championship game by limiting their mistakes and playing a choking style of defense. When the Ravens D isn’t suffocating an opposing offense they’re literally knocking helmets off like Ray Lewis did to the Tennessee Titans Ahmard Hall.(LARRY BROWN SPORTS)
Sammy Morris of the New England Patriots smashed Donte Whitner of the Buffalo Bills at the end of the third quarter in New England’s 13-0 win at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Whitner had a bad shoulder before the attempted tackle which is the least of his concerns since Sammy Morris just ran through his chest.
There’s no love lost between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots and the situation won’t get better any time soon after Ryan Clark laid out Wes Welker on Sunday. The hit was made with the Steelers comfortably ahead late in the third quarter and signaled to the Patriots that there would be no comeback in this game.
Green Bay Packers cornerback Al Harris got run over by Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. Purple Jesus admits he was looking to punish Harris because the Packers corner laid the hit that sidelined Peterson last year.
Adrian Peterson is a bad man. Al Harris probably didn’t want to go low and risk hurting Peterson’s knee again so he chose the alternative.. Getting run over.
