JJ Hickson is simply a member of King James’ court but he played like royalty Thursday night against the visiting Orlando Magic. LeBron setup JJ for two dunks (an alley-oop in the first quarter and a sweet bounce pass in the fourth) and Hickson slapped a Dwight Howard shot against the backboard to start a LeBron-driven fastbreak. His play helped the Cavs push their league best winning streak to 13 games. Read the full story

Amar’e Stoudemire won’t be in a Phoenix Suns uniform this time next season because a team will overpay for his offense only, me-first game this summer. Some owner and GM will be lured in by Stoudemire highlights like him dunking on Portland’s Dante Cunningham. His skills qualify Amar’e as a piece of a championship team but his mindset is that he’s a franchise player. He’s wrong and so is the team that anchors their title hopes to him. Read the full story

Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum got off to a huge start against the Celtics Sunday in Boston with 12 points, four rebounds, and a blocked shot in the first quarter. His most impressive play was when he drove past Kevin Garnett and dunked on him. Read the full story

When somebody gets dunked on they deserve credit for jumping in the line of fire to protect the rim. They also deserve to get their failed attempt uploaded to Youtube and for the video to be posted on sports blogs. Tonight’s victim is Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks who thought it was a good idea to jump with Jeff Green of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Josh was very, very wrong. Read the full story

Shane Battier is a tough and smart defender that’s not afraid to stand in and take a charge against anyone. That can get him into trouble. Case and point: Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire running a pick-and-roll for a dunk. Battier slides over on the rotation and then for some reason decided to jump with Amare. Read the full story

University of Kentucky super freshman John Wall will be in the NBA almost as soon as I publish this post and he shows why every time he steps on the floor. He set a school record Tuesday night with 16 assists in UK’s 104-61 victory over Hartford at Rupp Arena. As always Wall showed off his athleticism. Once by jumping on a table after hustling out of bounds, and again when he caught an alley-oop and reverse dunked. Read the full story

G-A-Y are the letters of his name. Cutting and slashing are the aspects of his game. Everybody knew Rudy Gay had game coming out of UConn but he fell into the NBA black hole known as the Memphis Grizzlies and his star was dimmed. Followers of the League know Gay’s game -active, high-flying, decent shot, match-up nightmare- but the casual sports fan might not know him. Read the full story
