It doesn’t matter if Jim Zorn or Sherm “Bingo” Lewis is calling plays for the Washington Redskins as long as they fake field goals and get the ball in Hunter Smith’s hands. Ben Roethlisberger hit Hines Ward for a three-yard touchdown with 1:22 remaining in the game to put the Steelers up 28-10 over the Denver Broncos. Pittsburgh could’ve run the ball on third down and kicked a field goal for a two touchdown lead if they were stopped. They opted to make a highlight play. Ward did a Jahvid Best-like jump over Champ Bailey minus the getting flipped over and landing on his head part to get the ball in the end zone. Read the full story

• Joey Porter reflects on Barack Obama’s historical night and Brandon Marshall’s sexuality
Joey Porter of the Miami Dolphins has been talking trash with Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos all week, but he put the beef aside for a night to watch Barack Obama. Porter told Miami reporters that he was moved to tears by Obama’s victory and that he decided to stop the back and forth with Marshall.

‘My brother called me and said, “Do you understand what happened? Don’t even waste time with this guy [Marshall],’ ” Porter said.
“I’m not going to let Brandon Marshall mess with my day.”
