Gilbert Arenas’ failed prank of leaving four guns, including a gold-plated Desert Eagle, in front of Jarvaris Crittenton’s locker landed Gil in trouble with the authorities. Arenas admits he’s a goofball that’s always kidding around and he says he now knows guns are no joking matter. Tim Donaghy and his book have returned from the dead to haunt David Stern like any common horror-movie villain. Stern labeled Donaghy a rogue ref who worked alone but the just out of prison Donaghy says everybody from refs to “The League” were involved in fixing games. He was set to release a tell-all book via Random House but the publisher backed out because they either received or didn’t receive heat from the NBA. Jimmy “The Sheep” Battista pleaded guilty to conspiracy to transmit wagering information for his role in the Tim Donaghy NBA betting scandal. The Sheep’s partner in crime, Tim Donaghy, was recently released from jail and attempting to sell a tell-all book about the NBA referee gambling and game fixing culture. • The NBA Commissioner says Europe is no threat to NBA

European basketball teams have lured college player Brandon Jennings and decent NBA player Josh Childress across the ocean, but they won’t make real noise until they pull an NBA superstar. Many people, myself included, believe no legitimate franchise player would leave the NBA for Europe. The reason being, an NBA championship and playing against the best competition in the world means more than some tax free euros and a yacht.
