Congratulations Yankees. You did it. You spent more money than the rest of the league, built a fancy new launching pad, and delivered the 27th championship in your franchise’s proud history. Pat yourselves on the back.
All jokes and disgust aside it’s great to see Jeter, Pettite, Posada, and Rivera pick up their fifth rings. Steroids blemish Andy’s career but those four guys are about as likable as guys on the other team can be.

The BYU Cougars upset no. 3 Oklahoma 14-13 in the first college football game played at the new Cowboys Stadium. Sooner QB Sam Bradford injured his right shoulder near the end of the first half when BYU’s Clausen drove him into the turf. After the hit the game was over in Norman and the party was on in Provo. David Wright of the New York Mets saved the United States’ baseball ass with a bases-load walk-off single against Puerto Rico Tuesday night in the World Baseball Classic. Too bad Wright and the Mets don’t come through in the clutch like this in September or October.
There are plenty of ways to celebrate during the Super Bowl. I barely remember one time in Vegas when I decided to chase the 300 shrimp and 52 cocktails I had with a nice Cuban cigar. Long story short, I wound up in gas station parking lot puking my guts out (I think some of the shrimp were still flopping around) while a crowd gathered around me and rooted for me to throw up again. As embarrassing as that was, I wasn’t driving and I damn sure didn’t crash my car into a cop on a horse. Well, I might’ve.. When I woke up I was back in Los Angeles.(SPORTS BY BROOKS)
The next two videos feature the highlights of the night and both star guys named Brandon. In the first video, Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler hits wide receiver Brandon Marshall with 1:14 left in the game to give Denver the lead and the victory. Marshall was gonna show a half-black half-white glove as a show of unity in the nation, but Brandon Stokely stopped him so the team wouldn’t receive a 15-yard penalty.
