The phrase “A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do” applies to taking a leak on the side of a building, hooking up with a Brooke Hundleyesque chick at the club, and spending the power bill money on new J’s. In the case of Alex Rodriguez and Brett Favre it means blowing your nose on national televison. Both came up big for their teams on Sunday and both gave the viewers at home something to enjoy. Brett Favre makes his first trip back to Lambeau Field this weekend if you haven’t heard. ESPN’s First Take interviewed former Packer Gilbert Brown by phone to get his take. The Minnesota Vikings were about to take their first loss until Brett Favre stepped out of a time machine and whipped the ball to Greg Lewis like it was 1998. I’ll answer my own question. No. Brett Favre didn’t sign with the Minnesota Vikings so he could get a new truck and his wife Deanna could take home a new SUV. He signed with the Vikings because he wanted to beat the Packers and Ted Thompson twice, AND so he could get a new truck and his wife an SUV. Read the full story

Adrian Peterson took the first handoff of the game 75 yards for a touchdown to prove the Minnesota Vikings did the right thing by bringing in Brett Favre. It’s only a preseason game, and Peterson did all of the work, but there’s some sorta law or ordinance that says you have to praise Brett Favre whenever possible. Read the full story
