The Chicago White Sox have lost five games in a row, and seven of their last 10, but manager Ozzie Guillen isn’t worried about that. At a time when his team is struggling to score runs, Ozzie is more concerned with who the Chicago Cubs choose to honor.
”How about the Cubs celebrating that Lee Elia bull[crap]? How many times I curse people out, I will make a lot of money with my [crap]. I have to keep going because in the future Ozzie [Jr.] will need money and I can say, ‘Here, give me money, here’s the 10-year anniversary of the time I called [Sun-Times columnist Jay] Mariotti stuff and the time I went on the radio and cursed out Mike North last year.’
I hear Ozzie but he’s overvaluing his rants. Even in these hypersensitive and politically correct times, calling Jay Mariotti a fag and cussing on the radio doesn’t touch what Lee Elia did in 1983.
Here’s the Lee Elia clip:
It’s funny every time I listen to it, and like DiMaggio’s 56 game hit streak, this feat will never be topped.
