OPRAH CONSIDERING O.J. SIMPSON FOR BOOK CLUB?

Hell nah.. But Oprah is gonna have Fred and Kim Goldman, the father and sister of Ron Goldman, and Denise Brown, the sister of Nicole Brown Simpson, on her show on September 13th. The two families will be discussing O.J.’s “If I Did It Book”. “How I Did It” “If I Did It” is the Juice’s ghostwritten account of how he would have committed the infamous 1994 murders.

The Goldmans won the rights to the book in July, and are having it published to show O.J. Simpson as “a wife-beater, as a murderer, written in his own words.”. Denise Brown wants the book boycotted, and she’s upset with the Goldmans for making the book deal… Or the fact that her family lost out on the book revenue.

In a related story, book superstore Barnes & Noble says it will not carry the “If I Did It Book” in it’s stores. It’s great to see B&N taking a stand.. A stand so strong that you can go to Barnes and Noble.com and order the book!! It’s #16 on the bestsellers list as I’m typing this. WTF?!?! Barnes and (not so) Noble won’t sell the physical book in the stores, but you can special order it at a B&N store or buy it online…Great job fellas.

Barnes & Noble wanted to give people who wanted to read the book an opportunity to do so by making it available for special order in the stores and online. I suspect they also didn’t want their employees to have to deal with the people outraged by the publication of the book and the sight of it on the shelves, and can you blame them? Do you know how crazy some people can get with the poor front-line salespeople who have no control over the situation to begin with? I guess it could be seen as cop-out or a thoughtful compromise. Personally, I probably would have just made it available and dealt with the flack as a manager. But part-time booksellers shouldn’t have to deal with some customers’ self-created drama and outrage. I can understand the book upsetting someone directly involved with the tragedy, but that’s about where my sympathy ends. It amazes me how much time people have on their hands to get so wound up about these things.

i personally feel the book should be published now that the Goldman family has the rights to the book. We have never walked in their shoes and lost a son to a vicious murderer that still walks around flaunting his ” big mouth” every where he goes. It is a true book and you can feel it is true just by the excerts I have read. OJ wrote it to get money for his lousy self. He is so despicable and guilt ridden and has such a big mouth that he just had to tell what he did, even if he had to say it was fiction. He told the truth of what happened. Now that the Goldman family has the rights to the book I would buy it. I know he murderd Nicole and Ron but I would like to hear the full facts as only OJ, who was there killing them, can tell us. The Brown family has suffered but they have never acted as if they suffered like poor Fred Goldman. He has spent his life these last years fighting for what was done to his son. He deserves all the money he and his family can get. I hope the book sells millions of copies. OJ will rot in hell someday for what he has done. He will face Nicole and Ron when he leaves this earth on the way to his eternal hell.

alot of people are seeing this book to be something it is not. I have read it. it is predominately a love story. it is about his and nicoles relationship. There is 6 paragraphs (if that) about the murder, and is written in such a way that it was a nightmare he had before being woken by the limo driver taking him to the airport.

i agree that this is in bad taste. cant pretend to understand why he included it, i figure it was to boost the sales (think about it, noone is gonna buy OJs book about his and nicoles relationship).

it cannot be a confesion. because the murder he hypothetically describes speaks of an accomplice. where is this accomplice? how could he possible keep quiet? in the book he has such a passive role that he has no reason to keep quiet. the accomplice does nothing accept be present at the time of the killings. the only reason he is there is because he went to simpson and told him about nicole hanging out with drug dealers.

the most likely occurance is the theorey presented by the mountains of evidence reveared private investigator William C Dear in his book “OJ is guilty, but not of murder”

Yet i cant help but suspect the drug links when you look at he murders of ron goldmans friends before and after this murder (most noteably Brett Cantor, who was murdered a year before them in the exact same manner as nicole and ron were).

I believe simpson to be not guilty (as the criminal precedings found him) in regards to the murder of nicole and ron, but there is a high possibility that he was present at the murder scene after it happened. And if you consider the theorey William C Dear puts forward, it also explains his reluctance to speak on his defence at his trial (fear of incriminating his son).

We all know things are not as they appear. If alot of people who make these rash judgements bother to actually read on all the research done by all sides, it would take an idiot to not see that something is very wrong with this picture.

It saddens me that Simpson gets such vindiction even to this day. While the few paragraphs in this book were indeed in bad taste, we can account this to the fact that he his human and sometimes makes bad decisions as how to market his products. But too much time is being focused by the families of ron and nicole to vilify Simpson, and not enough to even POSSIBLY explore these other aspects.

I mean think about it. OJ is not going anywhere. He cannot be retried. he is free. Constantly hammering at something most of the public already believe (that he is guilty) is a waste of their time at best. It cannot hurt to explore these other avenues, because at best, they could possibly find and prosecute the REAL killer. But i guess even exploring these avenues would be hard for them, as it would make them look foolish for all this past anger directed at Simpson.

We can sit and vilify Simpson all we want. But its a constant cycle of pointlessness for there is nothing else we can do. Why not, even consider, exploring another avenue, if only to maybe make you discount them?

    Just something to think about.
