NFL WEEK 4 PICKS: I SAID WHAT?

NFL WEEK 4 PICKS: I SAID WHAT?

What up people? Here I am again with another batch of marvelous picks. I went 6-6-3 last week, pushing my record to 21-18-6 on the season.. Still above .500 but nothing to brag about. Before I get to this week’s picks, check out some of my quotes from pickness past:

Before Chargers/Bears Week 1: “One of these teams will be almost as good as last year and the other’s qb is gonna end up costing them.” I was half right so far.. The Chargers can lose 2 more games and still be almost as good as last year.

Before Broncos/Raiders Week 2: “Mike Shanahan enjoys nothing more than beating down Raiders. He’ll be all smiles on Sunday.” By all smiles I meant resorting to the lame act of calling a last second timeout to ice the kicker.

Before Broncos/Jaguars Week 3: “Jay Cutler doesn’t have qb’n down to a science yet, but the high altitude alone should give Denver 2 points. I remember when the Jags went to Mile High and put the Broncos out of the playoffs. Those Jags were good, these stink.” On the bright side, for me, the Jaguars could finish the season 2-14.

Keep in mind that I don’t pick for or against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Titans, Saints, Redskins, and Jaguars have a bye week.

The home team is in bold type.

Oakland +4.5 over Miami: This line opened at 3.5 and has bumped up to 4.5. I’ll take the 4 points, the hook, and (gulp) Daunte Culpepper in Miami.

Houston -2.5 over Atlanta: Houston’s offense is getting a lot of attention but don’t sleep on the defense. I know it’s still early but through 3 weeks the Texans defense ranks 13th in the league. They finished 24th last year and 31st two years ago.

Cleveland +4.5 over Baltimore: The Ravens are winning ugly right now.. They’ll probably squeak this game out, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost out right.

Detroit +3 over Chicago: The Bears are having their post Super Bowl hangover, and changing the quarterbacks isn’t gonna fix it. You gotta like a home dog with something to prove after getting served last week.

Minnesota +2 over Green Bay: Brett Favre and the Packers look great. Brett Favre and the Packers have struggled over the years at Minnesota. The Vikings have to have this game to keep pace in the NFC North.

Dallas -13 over St. Louis: Two worlds are colliding. The Cowboys are the best team in the NFC right now, and the Rams have screwed me 3 weeks in a row. Easy pick.

Buffalo +3.5 over NYJ: I refuse to believe that the Jets can go on the road and be more than a field goal better than any team.

Carolina -3 over Tampa Bay: The Panthers would be 3-0 right now if they hadn’t let the Houston game slip away.. I know, woulda coulda but I’m just saying.. I’m also just saying Carolina hasn’t beat anybody but St. Louis and Atlanta.

Seattle -2 over San Francisco: I’m 1-1-1 with my Seahawk picks, and 1-1-1 with my Frisco picks. That means I have no idea what these teams will do…If I was you I would stay away from this game and look for…..

Pittsburgh -5 over Arizona: If I was one of those guys yelling on tv or charging for this bullshit, this game would have some stars attached to it. The Cardinals faced the Ravens D last week, and now they have to see Pittsburgh?!? I don’t give a damn about Arizona but jeezus… And then on top of that, there’s the mess that the Cardinals refer to as the quarterback position.

Kansas City +11.5 over San Diego: I don’t like the idea of laying double digits to a division rival. The Chiefs can’t stop the run, so LT will be happy, but the final score should be in the 27-17 range.

Denver +10 over Indianapolis: Let me explain. I’m making this pick while believing two things.. 1) The Broncos got caught looking ahead when Jacksonville beat em and 2) Mike Shanahan will not go for it on 4 and anything inside his own 45 yard line.

New England -7 over Cincinnati: The Bengals need this victory in the worst way, but in the end, their defense will let them down. I said I’m taking NE until further notice, so here we go.
