NFL WEEK 10 PICKS: PARTY TIME

Well, well, well… Look who’s back in the game.. It’s me if you haven’t figured it out yet. I went 11-2 last week, losing with the Jags and the Pats, but pulling my season record up to 60-53-9. If you weren’t rolling with me last week, that sucks, because you know how this thing works, I’ll go 3-10 this week.

I should be happy with 11-2, and I am, but I coulda went 12-1. If Rosevelt Colvin could’ve gotten down field with the Peyton Manning fumble, maybe the Pats kick a field goal, covering the 5.5… I know, I know, woulda coulda shoulda.. On to the picks.

New England, NYJ, Houston, and Tampa Bay have the bye week, and I don’t pick games involving the Philadelphia Eagles.

The home team’s in bold type.

Carolina -4 over Atlanta: The Panthers don’t cover at home, but they’re gonna make an exception for us this week. No way the Falcons are putting together back to back good games.

Green Bay -6 over Minnesota: All praises due to Adrian Peterson, but the Packer’s grass is gonna slow him down…For a 100+ yards.

Kansas City -5.5 over Denver: The Broncos don’t look like they could be the Royals, let alone the Chiefs. The heartbreaking overtime loss to Green Bay, and the blowout in Detroit were signs of things to come.

Miami +2.5 over Buffalo: The Dolphins are gonna win a game or two, and this week looks as good as any. Buffalo is high off of the victory over Cincy and looking forward to playing New England next week, while Miami is nice and rested.

New Orleans -11.5 over St. Louis: The Rams are making a serious run at 0-16. All they have to do is lay down when the Falcons come to town and the record is theirs. The Saints shook off the bad voodoo, and look like they’re getting close to last year’s form.

Pittsburgh -9.5 over Cleveland: The Browns are a much different team than the one the Steelers beat 34-7 in week 1. They’re about 34-20 different.

Tennessee -4 over Jacksonville: A tough AFC matchup between two teams with winning records, and similar styles. They both want to play defense and run the ball, but the Jags can’t stop anybody with their 24th ranked D.

Baltimore -4 over Cincinnati: This is a “when in doubt, take the home team” game. These teams are huge disappointments, but the Ravens’ season isn’t over yet.

Detroit +1 over Arizona: Your eyes are not deceiving you. Yes, I finally picked a road team, and yeah, the Cardinals are favored over the Lions. It doesn’t seem right, so it probably is. The Lions are on grass, and possibly looking ahead to the Giants next week, plus, Arizona already has home wins over Seattle and Pittsburgh. I’m still rolling with Detroit.

Dallas -1.5 over NYG: The Cowboys are the class of the NFC, the Giants are 2nd tier. I see the Dallas defense harassing the hell out of Eli Manning, and the Boys winning by 7.

Oakland +3 over Chicago: I’m a big fan of teams that just had a bye week, but the Bears have been all over the place this season. I don’t know if rest heals bad qb play and bad defense.

Indianapolis -3.5 over San Diego: This one seems pretty easy. Norv Turner against Tony Dungy? Dungy. Manning against Rivers? Manning. Adai against LT (this season)? Adai. Colt D against Chargers D? Colts D… Not to mention that Indy wants to get the taste of losing out of it’s mouth.

Seattle -11 over San Francisco: Somebody remind me to go do ANYthing on Monday night other than watch this game. Is it possible to request the blackout?
