How can a season that saw Michelle Wie break par twice, and only make 3 cuts get worse? Her agent bounced.
Greg Nared, a former Nike business manager whom the William Morris Agency hired a year ago to manage Wie, resigned as vice president of golf. His announcement came one day after Wie finished 19th in a 20-player field at the Samsung World Championship.
And straight from Greg Nared:
“After careful consideration for my future, I have resigned effective immediately. I’m very grateful to the William Morris Agency for the opportunity to work with world-class athletes. It has been an invaluable experience and I’ll forever cherish (it).”
It’s completely possible that Greg Nared simply wanted a new direction in life, but I’m leaning towards him distancing himself from Michelle Wie. Seeing how Michelle has played, and knowing her family’s history with agents, Mr. Nared has probably made the right decision.
