Michael Vick continues to grab headlines and create suspense across the NFL landscape, no matter the reason. From his infamous trial and subsequent comeback and rise toward the top yet again, to his injury status and ability to play for his Philadelphia Eagles. The good news for Vick supporters and Eagles fans is that the latest reports have him practicing two days in a row and ready to play Sunday against the New York Giants.
“There’s no reason to think that I won’t play on Sunday,” Vick said. “I’ve had two good days of practice. I’m optimistic I’ll be able to go out there and very excited to play.”
Eagles coach Andy Reid said that barring a setback, Vick will start against the team that has lost to Philadelphia six straight times.
“If he’s OK on game day,” Reid said, “then he plays on game day.”
The move is also one sure to affect the outlook for the week 3 NFL lines and odds too, with Vick’s abilities drastically affecting the Eagles chances on the field.
The Eagles were dubbed a “super team” by many among the league for their wealth of talent and experience, but any serious Super Bowl aspirations are directly tied to Vick and his quickness, athleticism and skills. For now at least, they’ll be available for all to see on Sunday.
