Michael Silver On The NFL Draft, Gene Upshaw, And Sweet Tea

Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports is not a fan of the NFL draft, or Gene Upshaw’s negotiating skills. This video was shot the day before the draft, a perfect time for Silver to re-visit his opinions on the draft having slavery overtones, and the homoerotic nature of old men ogling young bucks. I found Silver’s take on the NFLPA the most interesting. He admits that it would be tough for Upshaw and company to defend the actions of a Michael Vick or Pacman Jones, but he points out the NBA’s player association stuck by Latrell Sprewell.. Not a good choice, but at least they’ve got their players’ backs.
