That’s right, now that we’re officially into the month of March people across the country are starting to prepare for the 2011 NCAA Men’s basketball tournament, otherwise known as March Madness.
We’re only 11 days away from selection Sunday, which will set up the famous frenzy for brackets in every office and buddy pool. By March 15 the first round starts and thanks to a new TV deal between the NCAA, CBS and Turner Sports, we’ll all be able to watch several games at once.
ESPN already has a tournament schedule set up and according to the two major rankings systems, the top four teams in the country are Ohio State, Kansan, Brigham Young (BYU) and Duke.
If history has taught us anything it’s that just being a top seed or favorite doesn’t mean much during the tourney, hence the “madness” moniker attached to it, and just like in other years there are bound to be some great Cinderella teams. The final few weeks of the season before the big games will be taken up with conference championships and the like, which means it’s almost time for the season’s awards for coach and player of the year, among others.
It will also be one of the last opportunities for teams to separate themselves from the pack and hope to build momentum heading into the big dance. Once that happens all anyone will care about is their brackets and filling them out, which you can do with these NCAA Basketball Tournament Picks provided by BetUS.
Everyone from die-hard sports fans to the secretary who doesn’t know the difference between a three-pointer and field goal will be making their picks, so now is the time to start preparing for the fun.
