Mike Tyson and Diego Maradona

Mike Tyson and Diego Maradona are scheduled to be in attendance at next month’s Cannes Film Festival that will feature documentaries about the former athletes. Both men experienced the highs and lows of fame and judging from the people behind them, the documentaries shouldn’t disappoint.

‘Maradona’ was put together by Serbian director Emir Kusturica, and intends to take us through three stages of Maradona’s life. Kusturica offered this about his work while it was still in progress:

The film will show “the three Maradonas” I’ve discovered during the shooting: the football teacher, the politically incorrect citizen against the unilateral politics of the USA and the family man. These three Diegos will be in the end of the film I will shoot in the Aztec Stadium in Mexico, where Diego scored one of his most famous goals, during the World Cup 1986 against the English team.

That goal is incredible but doesn’t Maradona’s most famous goal have to be when he did this?

Still hurts doesn’t it England?

If you’re wondering who was able to pull Mike Tyson for a documentary, it was screenwriter and director James Toback. He directed Mike’s big screen debut in Black and White.

Here’s Tyson’s best scene from the movie. My bad on the quality and the language.

Gotta give Robert Downey Jr. credit. The guy at the circus that sticks his head in the mouth of a lion is in less danger than Downey was in this scene. Mike could’ve snapped at any moment and gone from acting to Tyson-Holyfield II.
