Kwame Brown Prefers Low Expectations
August 6th, 2008 | by HG |
Former overall number one pick Kwame Brown has had a terrible start to his NBA career. Brown has been traded twice, and this season he’ll suit up for his fourth team in seven years. Kwame’s potential has been a gift and a curse. He finds teams that believe in his game only to eventually disappoint them with his play.
Kwame Brown spoke with reporters via teleconference and said a low key role with the Pistons is exactly what his career needs.
“I think I’m in the best situation ever. I came in as the No. 1 draft pick and now there are no expectations.”
“I’m just happy I can come out and just play hard and play smart.”
Smart and play are two words I never use together when talking about Kwame Brown unless it’s ” that wasn’t a smart play by Kwame”. Gotta give KB props though. The brotha knows how to interview. He’s fooled Michael Jordan, Phil Jackson, and now Joe Dumars. Gregg Popovich will probably be the first person to call Kwame after he flames out in Detroit.
And Detroit.. If you don’t know what you’re getting in Kwame Brown lemme break it down for you. You’re getting a guy that can’t catch simple passes, and that blows gimme layups. The good news is Kwame knows how to party, especially if he’s injured and hanging out at a lesbian bar.
