Knight Rider To Take On NASCAR Field At Bristol

Fans of the classic television show Knight Rider are probably counting down the days until the series’ September 24th return to the airways. KITT’s a Shelby now instead of a Trans-Am, but this weekend Kitt will be a Ford Car of Tomorrow driven by Travis Kvapil, not Michael Knight.

As part of the partnership, Travis Kvapil will drive the specially painted No. 28 “Knight Rider” Ford for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday.

“The stealth look and feel of the car coupled with Travis Kvapil at the helm has us very excited about this race,” said John Miller, chief marketing officer at NBC Universal Television Group and president of the NBC Agency. “This event exemplifies the adrenaline and action the ‘Knight Rider’ series will deliver.”

The Yates Racing team needs to figure out how to slip some of KITT’s features past inspection. They need to hook the car up with some turbo boost because slapping a logo on the car isn’t enough to move Travis Kvapil up the standings.
