I wouldn’t blame Jeff Van Gundy if he never said a good word about the Miami Heat. He coached the Knicks through three playoff battles against Miami, going 2-1, and famously humped Alonzo Mourning’s leg during a fight in the 1998 series. But it looks like JVG has let go of the past when you read what he said about the 2010 Heat. Not only does he think Miami’s three-headed monster will work, he says they will be all-time great.
“They will break the single-season win record [of 72],” Jeff Van Gundy said. “And I think they have a legit shot at the Lakers’ 33-game [winning] streak [in 1971-72], as well. And only the Lakers have even a remote shot at beating them in a playoff series. They will never lose two games in a row this year.
They have put together a much better roster than anybody could ever have expected,” Van Gundy added. “There is now no good way to defend them. They are unguardable. They are indefensible. They are just too good and have added so much shooting and are so versatile that they will score at will.”
Van Gundy reads a little like Mike Tyson sounded here so it’s impossible for me to take him seriously. And besides the fact that I’m not sold on the rest of their roster, Miami won’t touch LA’s 33 game streak.

finally someone, van gundy, steps up to the plate and tells it how it is. He has a knack for that. Miami is going to kill it this year and for years to follow. Their squad is retarded sick. I would have preferred lebron staying in Cleveland, but it is what it is. They will be winning the championship this year.
