Jason Campbell Blacked Out After Sack by Juqua Parker

Jason Campbell on End of Game Sack: Everything Blacked Out

The Philadelphia Eagles completed the season sweep of the Washington Redskins with a 27-24 victory at Lincoln Financial Field in a game that Washington fans feel ended with an illegal play. Quarterback Jason Campbell threw an incomplete pass to Santana Moss on fourth and one with just over a minute remaining to turn the ball over on downs. Campbell was slammed to the ground by Eagles defensive end Juqua Parker after releasing the ball prompting Fox broadcasters to say there should’ve been a personal foul called. I’m an Eagles fan and I agreed.

Campbell was fine although he laid face down on the turf for close to a minute. Jason gave his thoughts on the hit to Comcast SportsNet’s Postgame Live.

Via the D.C. Sports Bog:

“The guy actually threw me on top of my head. And when he slammed me down on my head everything blacked out, my left arm was numb and I had the breath knocked out of me.”

The hosts went on to ask Campbell if he believes in the Tom Brady rules:

“Real quick before you get out of here, if Tom Brady’s the quarterback on that last play, is there a roughing call?” host Chick Hernandez asked from the studio.

“Yeah, I think it was a 15-yarder maybe,” Campbell said, to much laughter.

If it had been Brady not only would Juqua Parker have been flagged he might have been tossed from the game. It’s not right but you win three Super Bowls and you’re gonna get more calls.

Fast-forward to 5:43 in the video to see Jason Campbell laying on the ground after the hit:
