There are few things that bring a man greater shame than losing to a woman at an athletic event. Now imagine losing to woman at an athletic event with a good portion of the country watching. That’s what Daniel Margil did when he lost to Sarah Beth Hill in the Dr. Pepper Scholarship Throw for Dough during halftime of the Florida-Alabama SEC Championship game. The contestants had to throw footballs into a hole in a giant Dr. Pepper can from five yards away with the winner taking home $123,000 and the loser settling for $23,000. Daniel Margil shouldn’t receive a penny.

All jokes aside Sarah Beth Hill deserves a ton of credit. She learned how to throw a football, squared off against a cocky Gator-chomping failure, and remained cool and steady in front of 75,000 people. Well done young lady.

girls can actually play sports. daniel is my friend, and maybe that girl is just BETTER AT FOOTBALL. actually think, that maybe she play. so shut up, this post is just so stupid. i love daniel margil. he’s a really good friend of mine, and hey maybe i lost him to another girl but still…he’s amazing, and awesome. and you guys can shut the heck up about him losing, honestly. you’re an epic fail for posting this! women can play sports, you stupid idiot! get with the decade.

Katie, your comment only reinforces the horrible stereotype that women don’t know how to use the internet. In the video, Sarah clearly says that she received very basic instruction on how to hold and throw a football in preparation for this event; she’s no player. I’m sad to hear that you were dumped by Daniel, but hopefully you will find another man who defies gender stereotypes. Perhaps a bad driver who you can enjoy a nice wine with while watching a Sandra Bullock movie?
HG clearly gave Sarah her props. She had a plan and stuck with it, taking her time to get the job done. Daniel, on the other hand, finished way before her- reinforcing at least one stereotype about guys.

Like the football game, the top two competed. After watching the other 2 Dr. Pepper challenges, Daniel just had the bad luck to go up against Sarah Beth. If Daniel went up against either of the two other girls or the two other guys, Daniel could have well walked away with the big check. IMHO
But Who wanted it more? The person who sought out training tips from coaches and QBs or the person who just practiced without additional training. Don’t forget that hitting a hubcap size hole from 5 yards in front of hundreds of thousands not to mention cameras, is not easy feat for the uninitiated.
I bet I couldn’t do it.
Congrats to Sarah Beth Hill.
She trained for it, she wanted it.
She got it. A great underdog story.

Gator-chomping failure? Clever. First off, you are a total douche for taking your precious time writing an article about an event you wish to god that could ever be lucky enough to participate in.. but I bet you A. either had a tragically pathetic falling out in sports and now spend your time huddling over a computer sucking up on all the fun little games that interest you, or you just have no friends. Either way. Get a life.

Wow, that guy should lose his man card. I watched it live and thought there is no way he would miss a 5 yard pass. That’s 15 whole feet. I have seen pop warner kids make better passes. Hopefully he is into fashion cause that’s the only route for him. What was his rush? Did all the Jorts Jesus juice he drank give him a full bladder and a distraction? Oh well, I heard you can purchase the Tebow’s tears on eBay.
