You know how in movies, the police or somebody will catch a guy, but the guy says “can I use the bathroom first?” and inevitably ends up escaping out of the window, and then you shake your head saying what kind of bs is this? It seems so stupid, because it would never happen in real life.. Unless you’re on the campus of Georgia College and State University.. Instead of the bathroom, it was “pack my things”, but either way, Shakita Martin got over on the cops.

Martin, who was to be arrested for violation of her parole in Columbia County, escaped Police by leaving out of her window while officers allowed her to pack clothing and personal belongings from her apartment at The Village at West Campus.

The South gets a bad rap for being slow, amongst other things, but this time the Mayberry PD GCSU Public Safety deserves criticism. The woman’s been on the run for 3 years, even if you’re gonna let her grab a few things, keep an eye on her.

“As soon as the officer (who escorted her to her room) realized she was gone we conducted a search of the area and the parking lot. We set up a perimeter, checked all cars going in or out, especially ones going out.”

It’s safe to say that the officer that let her get away is probably doing desk duty.. If the cops really do that type of thing.. And to add insult to injury to the fugitive, GCSU rescinded Shakita Martin’s admission. Glad to see they’ve been on top of the situation.
