The two lovely young ladies in the picture above are Patty Paniagua (L) and Katrina Johnson (R), and they’re student-athletes at Arizona Western College. Paniagua is a former All-American volleyball player for the school, and Johnson’s a redshirt sophomore basketball player. Apparently, when they’re not studying or playing ball the girls are kicking up dust. Patty and Katrina spent Monday night in jail after being hit with charges that were “misdemeanor in nature”. The arrests were the result of a series of assaults that occurred on campus at the AWC residence halls on Monday evening involving the two student-athletes, as well as several other students. One female student was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center for treatment of bumps and bruises, while another declined any further treatment from paramedics the night of the attacks.
What’s up with the outbreak of hot, violent, female athletes? It looks like Patty and Katrina are the new Thelma and Louise… And the story gets better. During Arizona Western College’s internal investigation into the ruckus it was learned that the school’s wide receivers coach, David Slaughter, was involved with one of the arrested ladies. He offered his resignation on Tuesday. I had never heard of AWC until this article, but if it’s going down like this on campus, I’m thinking of enrolling.
