Erin Andrews is suing Marriott International Inc. and Radisson Hotels International Inc. for negligence and invasion of privacy for enabling stalker Michael David Barrett to secretly record her in her hotel room. The suit claims that Barrett obtained info about Andrews, including reservation dates and room numbers, from hotel staff members. I hope Erin gets what she’s asking for and then some.
I caught up with EA a couple of days ago at the 2010 ESPN the Magazine “ESPY Style Studio” for a lighthearted, poorly lit conversation. We talked about why she stayed with ESPN and her love of Twitter. I don’t know if it was the new contract or the “Dancing With the Stars” appearance, but I Erin’s swagger factor was much higher than when I spoke to her at the same event last year.
So there it is. Any network planning on luring Erin Andrews away from ESPN when her new contract is up better have some sports duties tied into whatever job they offer her. Staying in the ABC/Disney family suits Andrews for no but is there really any doubt she’ll be doing much bigger things one day?
