SAINTS +3 AT BEARS
I guess Vegas is being safe to start out or they don’t have the balls to set it at even. Unless I’m completely missing something the Saints should pretty much be the favorite, even on the road. I wonder if the Eagles’ ability to spring big plays against the Saints’ defense is what’s keeping the line honest. The Bears defense has been struggling against the run for weeks, and the Saints receivers don’t drop balls in key situations like the Seattle wide-outs. Throw in Sean Payton’s play calling and the NFL rigging the game for the Saints and I see New Orleans winning the game. Keep in mind this is Sunday night. Who the hell knows what I’ll think by Saturday?..
PATRIOTS +3 AT COLTS
If Peyton Manning ever wanted to deliver a huge F U to the monkey sitting on his back, Sunday would be the game to do it. This is the best chance that he’s ever been given to beat Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and the New England Patriots. The same goes for Tony Dungy. New England is a good team but this isn’t the Patriots Patriots. The salary cap, age, injuries, coaching changes, and shrewd business decisions have shaped New England into the scrappy chameleon of a team that they are now. They adjust their style of play on offense to attack mismatches very well. A few weeks ago that woulda meant a heavy dose of Dillon/Maroney. New England passed 35 times and ran 33 times in the first meeting between these two in week 9. On Sunday against the Chargers the Patriots rushed 21 times and passed 51. How sick will Belichick and Brady feel while watching Peyton Manning drive the length of the field to set up Adam Vinatieri for the game winning kick? Too early for me to call it…………
