Welcome back to the world of a Los Angeles Clippers fan, which just featured another tough loss, this time 95-89 at the hands of the Boston Celtics. In what has been a completely erratic season that jumps from Cinderella story wins to difficult losses, tonight’s game falls into the second category.
After hanging in there with the Celtics for almost the entire game, the Clips fell short of completing what would have been a shocking series sweep of championship-contending Boston after a miserable third quarter in which they only scored 15 points. The loss is their second in the last 10 days against the NBA’s upper echelon after they had been enjoying wins against the Chicago Bulls, Washington Wizards and the D-League’s New Jersey Nets.
Their record currently stands at 20-24, which surpassed last year’s awful 19-63 season. Despite some of the obvious negatives that come with losses, the team’s play still has flashes of occasional brilliance efficiency (the one point loss to the Cavs, nearly stealing another from Boston), especially with out the injured Eric Gordon, who missed his third straight game. As usual though, there’s the missing element of consistency keeping them from putting it all together.
Yet another strange arena moment during a Clipper game, as workers in Boston’s new Garden work to mop up condensation from the ice underneath the hardwood.

Rest assured that things will finally change though Clipper Nation, because rumor has it the team will be picking up music legend Bobby Brown! Wait, it’s not that Bobby Brown? Damn.
I guess the New Orleans Hornets reserve guard (and LA native) will have to do, especially with Gordon’s injury and back up point guard Sebastian Telfair out 3-4 weeks. Thankfully the next two games are against the Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves, so a few more wins might be on the menu.
