Dallas Cowboys’ Greg Ellis: Leave Roy Williams Alone

Dallas Cowboys’ Greg Ellis: Leave Roy Williams Alone

Roy Williams of the Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys’ safety Roy Williams can still lay some hat, but his already questionable coverage skills have declined as he’s gotten older and slower. A lot of Cowboys fans want him traded if not cut, and some are resorting to treating Roy’s jersey the way receivers and tight ends treat him on the field.

Dallas Cowboys’ outside linebacker Greg Ellis has Roy Williams back:

“As a teammate, I feel bad that people are saying Dallas needs to do something to Roy. Is some of this stuff getting back to Roy? I don’t know. My job is to defend him. I want Roy on this team. I know he wants to be on this team.”

As a Philadelphia Eagles fan, I want Roy on that team too. He’s admitted to not feeling comfortable in coach Wade Phillip’s 3-4 defense, and if he’s in one-on-one coverage he hopes the ball doesn’t get thrown his way. The only bad news is that the Giants and Redskins will get to take advantage of him too.
