Actor and comedian Craig Robinson has a household face if not name. He currently appears on two NBC shows (“The Office” and “Last Comic Standing”) and because that’s not enough work he lands movie roles every other month. You’ve seen him in “Hot Tub Time Machine” and “Pineapple Express” and heard him most recently in “Shrek Forever After.” The Chicago-native believes in keeping busy.
Robinson made an appearance at the 2010 ESPN the Magazine ESPY Style Studio Monday to crack a few jokes with ESPN NBA analyst Jon Barry and to pick up the swag. I caught up with Craig for a few minutes to talk Chicago sports although he mostly wanted to talk about the Bears. The ’85 team to be exact. Robinson admitted that it was sacrilegious of him to root for the White Sox and Cubs, believes the Bulls are fine without LeBron, but he was most proud of still remembering the words to “The Super Bowl Shuffle.“
I was trying to get some NFL picks from Craig, or at least his thoughts on the upcoming NFL season. No luck. He only wanted to name the 1985 Bears roster and rap “The Super Bowl Shuffle.” Robinson did give me one small piece of non-sports information: He wants to host the ESPYs next year. He’s already doing everything else so I don’t see why awards show host shouldn’t be on his resume.
