Cooking With The Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys might win an ESPY, an Emmy, or a Teen Choice Award, but they can forget about the Lombardi trophy in the 2008-09 season. Tony Romo’s caught up in the Simpson family web, Terrell Owens is pursuing his acting career, and now Jason Witten is hoping for some off-field exposure. As if five primetime games and HBO’s Hard Knocks isn’t enough, get ready for “Cooking with the All Pros“.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten has tentatively agreed to approach teammates and former Cowboys standouts to appear on the new reality TV show, which will pair fans with players, and pit them against each other in cooking competitions, according to those involved in planning the show.

The show is set to start taping at the end of June, so Witten better move from agreeing to approach to actually asking somebody to do the show. YOU KNOW TO’s in.. Jason had him at reality. The show will probably be terrible, but at least Witten’s using it as a vehicle to raise funds for abused kids.

Whenever I hear a player waxing nostalgic about a magical Super Bowl season, I don’t hear the words pop starlet, Flava Flav, tv show, or personal agenda. It’s always about how a group of guys “believed in themselves” or “trusted one another”, but it’s never about a bunch of offseason television appearances or being written about in the tabloids. If the Cowboys don’t get the stars out of their eyes they’ll be lucky to make it to the postseason and have Romo fumble the game away or TO start crying.
