When you think of Dennis Rodman you probably picture the tattooed rebounding machine that loved to party and self promote. He’s still pretty much the same. I don’t know how many boards he could grab at 48 but Dennis is still partying like he’s 28. You know he’s serious because he hooked up with A List Entertainment to video his hipness.

I feel bad for Dennis in a way. He should’ve been born 20 years later because he’s tailor made for the social networking era. There’s no way The Worm wouldn’t have used Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and any other outlet to promote himself. Look at him in this video. He still wants to be somebody. If he was playing now he’d be Artest times Ochocinco.

Stephon Marbury seems to be doing all the things necessary to land back in the NBA next season. He’s showing up at a Knicks game and sitting in the wrong seats, and making more shirtless videos. This time around there’s no crying or singing.. Just Starbury chillin’ in an Optimus Prime mask.

So now Marbury is copying Matt Forte?.. He’s running out of ideas. He’s already eaten vaseline, and tried to draw attention to himself at Madison Square Garden. Steph is keeping himself in the headlines but it never has to do with basketball and it’s usually embarrassing for him.

Ron Artest, Detroit, and the Brawl at the Palace

It’s been five years since The Malice at the Palace when Ron Artest charged the stands after having a beer thrown on him by Pistons fan John Green. The reaction cost Artest the remaining 73 regular season games, the playoffs, and nearly $7 million. On the flip-side he’s known for setting off the greatest/worst NBA brawl.

Ron has spoken about the brawl several times since it happened and seems sincere when he says he regrets going in the stands. A lot of the blame has to fall on Ben Wallace for overreacting to the foul and then trying to start an altercation, and the referees for not taking control of the situation. You can see them standing around at times during the turmoil. Five years later and Ron-Ron is friends with John Green and playing for the defending champs. Artest’s life has taken a crazy path. I wouldn’t be surprised five years from now if he was an astronaut or an afterthought.

Barry Bonds was known as a surly bastard by the media when he played. Some of it was the media grinding an axe and some of it was Barry’s handling of the press. The combination usually made for BS answers from Bonds if he felt like talking at all. Now that he’s out of baseball and hanging out in Hollywood Barry’s a changed man. Look at him talking to the paparazzi about Dancing With the Stars, playing again, and dealing with the media as a former player.

I’ve never seen “The Book” but I’m pretty damn sure it says you should punt if up six with two minutes to go in the game and facing a fourth and two from your own 29. Bill Belichick said F the book Sunday night in Indianapolis. The Colts were marching down the field with ease in the fourth but giving Peyton Manning the ball at the 30-yard line is one of the worst coaching decisions you’ll see all year. If somebody like Jim Zorn had made the call people would’ve taken to the streets with pitchforks by now.

Even if you wanna argue that the Patriots got screwed on the spot you’re not in the position to get screwed on the spot if you punt. Belichick was classy as always in defeat.

Broncos-Redskins Highlighted by Orton to Marshall, Fake Field Goal

It doesn’t matter if Jim Zorn or Sherm “Bingo” Lewis is calling plays for the Washington Redskins as long as they fake field goals and get the ball in Hunter Smith’s hands. Smith ran for a touchdown on a fake field goal in a loss to the Giants and today he threw for a touchdown against the Denver Broncos. QB controversy in Washington?!?!?

The Redskins had to resort to the extreme trickeration because their defense doesn’t want to go near Brandon Marshall. Like that one time when Kyle Orton found Marshall for a 75-yard touchdown.

Manny Pacquiao Scores 12th Round TKO Over Miguel Cotto

Manny Pacquaio cemented his place as pound-for-pound champion of boxing with a 12 round beat down of the bigger Miguel Cotto. In the first round it looked like Cotto’s size and power would be too much for Pacquiao to handle as I thought the fight would go. But Pacquaio dropped Cotto in the third and fourth rounds, and by the sixth round Manny had Cotto figured out and was stalking him around the ring. Referee Kenny Bayless mercifully stopped the fight in the 12th round to prevent further damage to Cotto’s face.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Shannon Brown was acquired by the team as a throw in when LA sent Vladimir Radmonivich to Charlotte for Adam Morrison in February. So far he’s been the best player in the deal.

Brown gives the Lakers athleticism and toughness off the bench and he’s been one of the few bright spots for the LA backups this season. His play has been solid but his highlight dunks like this put back jam are becoming his calling card.

Ty Lawson Dunks on DJ Mbenga and Josh Powell

Denver’s 105-79 victory over Los Angeles Friday night exposed the unproductive Lakers’ bench (again) and gave the Nuggs a little (very little) bit of payback for being eliminated from the playoffs last season. The Nuggets’ 58-56 halftime lead blew up to 87-64 by the end of third quarter. J.R. Smith scored 20 to go with Carmelo Anthony’s 25 but the play of the night went to rookie point guard Ty Lawson for his dunk over a couple of Lakers.

It wasn’t as good/bad as Dwyane Wade dunking on Anderson Varejao but Lawson’s listed at generous 5-11. He dunked on a foot taller DJ Mbenga and let Josh Powell get a little too. This game and the dunk on a smaller level, show the Lakers’ title defense isn’t gonna be the cakewalk everybody was predicting.

Sammy Sosa Peddling Joke Inducing Skin Cream

Sammy Sosa finally showed his face about the strange change in his looks. He’s been using a bleaching cream to help his skin recover from the years of being in the sun. I thought he was suffering a skin reaction to a Halloween mask or a side-effect from performance-enhancers. I’m glad it’s nothing serious but I’m disappointed in Sosa.

It’s cool for him to ruin his body and face with whatever products he wants but now Sammy is pitching the skin bleaching cream. He’s crazy if he thinks anybody looked at the pictures of him and said “I gotta do that.” Here’s the report from Fox News via Breitbart TV via Sports by Brooks.

Nobody’s buying it.. Especially Charles Barkley. The Wagon has something to say about everything so naturally he clowned Sammy Sosa on the NBA on TNT. The Wagon had bleaching cream applied to his face after breaking some news to Sosa.

“I know you want to get in the Hall of Fame but going white ain’t the way to go. You’re not going to get in the Hall of Fame just by going white. Sammy you deserve the Hall of Fame but you can’t just go white.”
