Sammy Sosa sat courtside at Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals to the bemusement of Charles Barkley and the rest of the fellas at the NBA on TNT. The Chuckster had plenty to say to the Heat fans that threw towels at him but only said “damn” after seeing the light Sosa with slicked back hair. Kenny Smith made the right call when he told Chuck to let it be.

That’s not the first time Barkley has made fun of Sosa’s suddenly lighter skin. A year and a half ago, before a game that coincidentally involved Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, Charles said “I know you wanna get in the Hall of Fame but going white ain’t the way to go.” I thought Sosa was auditioning for “White Girls 2: Whiter Girls.” Glad Chuck cleared that up.

TNT cameras caught Joakim Noah of the Chicago Bulls using the same homophobic slur that cost Kobe Bryant $100,000 just over a month ago. After picking up his second foul in the first quarter Noah appeared to be exchanging words with a fan when he said “fucking faggot.” I’m surprised David Stern didn’t summon Noah to his office over the American Airlines Arena pa system.

The league established the $100,000 precedent so Noah should be hit for that amount, but you could argue he should be fined more. He saw what happened with Kobe and how seriously the NBA took the issue then. This time a player is yelling at a fan. Yelling at a ref happens but cussing at a customer is generally bad business.

To the surprise of a very few, the world did not end today. Too bad for Stuart Scott and Doris Burke because now this video will be around until at least late 2012.

Scott busted into a performance of “Oklahoma” coming out of a commercial during ESPN’s NBA pre-game show. Thankfully Magic Johnson, Jon Barry, and Michael Wilbon didn’t join the chorus. Then Boo(ya) Scott threw it to Doris Burke for a pre-game report, but somebody played the wrong tape. All we got were a couple of flubs by Burke before ESPN cut back to the studio.

Pretty easy to clown ESPN, Scott, and Burke for this but I’m giving them a pass. Singing show tunes on-air was probably on Stu’s bucket list, and the video operator was most likely a fill-in because the normal person took the day off for the Rapture.

The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-100 to tie the Western Conference Finals at a game apiece. OKC head coach Scott Brooks went with Kevin Durant and four backups, most notably Eric Maynor over Russell Westbrook, to close the fourth quarter. Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 of his 29 points in the fourth, but the KDThundersubs were able to hold on for the victory. Nowitzki expressed his displeasure with the loss by dropping an f-bomb as he left the court. I’m guessing Westbrook did the same thing even though OKC won.

The NBA.com player page for Jose “J.J.” Barea lists the Dallas Maverick point guard at 6-0, which is very doubtful when you look at this picture. But after seeing the picture this dunk becomes even more impressive.

Regardless of his height, Barea’s done it big in the playoffs. So large that he earned an anthem courtesy of Sector Sabana Abajo. The song is in Spanish but the highlights are international.

I’ll sum the song up for the non-Spanish speakers: Barea penetrates and does his thing, elbows and hard fouls can’t stop him, and he’s here to win not to fight. Basically he’s a bad mofo. Throw in his Miss Universe girlfriend and I can make the argument that Barea -not LeBron, Dirk, Dwight Howard, or D-Rose- is the most impressive player in the league.

Nicki Minaj’s “Lap Dances Across America” tour landed on Steve Nash and Phoenix last night. The Suns point guard joins Lil Wayne, Chris Paul, a couple of U.S. soldiers, and others on the list of recipients of Nicki’s Texas two-cheek. God bless her. Although with the price of gas you’d think a couple of shifts at an Atlanta-area strip club would be a cheaper and easier way to grind on rappers and ballers than flying city to city. But what the hell do I know?

Steve Nash Gets a Lap Dance From Nicki Minaj [Black Sports Online]

The Miami Heat squared off with the Orlando Magic on Thursday night in the first of a string of games against playoff teams. LeBron James tweeted on Wednesday that he was “ReFOCUSED” and ready to battle. So far, the only casualty of the war is James’ teammate Chris Bosh and that happened because Lebron bounced a pass off of his face.

The video below features a matte black Lamborghini Murcielago that belongs to Chad Ochocino. Nothing unusual about that. He’s a young multi-millionaire with a flashy personality and the Lambo fits his image nicely. What’s not a good look for the former, soon to be Johnson again is what appears to be a marijuana roach in the car’s ashtray. Even if it’s not his, the fact that the floor mats say Ocho Cinco is all the evidence Roger Goodell needs.

There’s no way to say for sure that’s a joint BUT.. There’s no way to say for sure that it isn’t so I’ll just have to assume it is.

When Dwyane Wade and LeBron James agreed to team up on the Miami Heat, most people expected to see some great highlights. With Wade and LeBron the Heat boast two of the best wing players in the game today.

Both are excellent finishers at the rim and when their chemistry is right, the possibilities may be endless. In today’s game against the New York Knicks they showed off “their talents” when LeBron stole the ball, dribbled behind his back and passed to Wade, who hit a streaking LeBron for a one-handed monster alley-oop slam.

Ever since the Los Angeles Clippers won the literal lottery and drafted Blake Griffin, fans across the NBA have been treated to an array of jaw-dropping dunks and athleticism.

He’s already dunked the ball more than 150 times and has taken ESPN’S SportCenter, YouTube and the world by storm with compilations of his dunking prowess. He proved he earned the crown as the league’s best dunker during this year’s All-Star game, where he dunked over a car to win the 2011 Slam Dunk contest.

Many would consider him a dunking god for the move, which seemingly couldn’t be topped. Until now.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Blake Griffin Jr., a teenager who can dunk over not one or two cars, but three.
