One day, Stephon Marbury wants to own a team in the Chinese Basketball Association where he currently plays for Shanxi Zhongyu. Until then, Starbury’s eyes are focused on smaller goals like running in the hills and staying upright. He’s having problems with the latter.

Stephon Marbury was named the MVP of the Chinese Basketball Association’s All-Star game over the weekend after scoring 30 points and putting on a show on the offensive end of the court. The videos below show Marbury raining 3-pointers from deep and dropping dimes. Starbury doesn’t play any defense but neither is anybody else. The lack of D in these highlights make the NBA All-Star game look like the Heat-Knicks rivalry in the 90s.

Stephon Marbury was named MVP of the Chinese Basketball Association’s All-Star game after scoring 30 points and leading the North to a 133-121 victory over the South. Marbury reportedly won the award because of his scoring, no-look and alley-oop passes and deep three-pointers. Looks like Steph’s trip to China paid-off.

You’ll also be happy to know the Chinese Basketball Association All-Star game dunk contest is just as bad as the NBA version.

The cloak, apple, ladder, mask and etc. were used in the Dunk Slam contest, which was more like an innovation contest rather than a slam skill show-off.

During the break, Zhang Qingpeng beat his two competitors, Lucas and Ji Linpeng of the Guangsha, after shooting four spots, finishing with 22 points to win the Three-Point Shooting Contest.

Sean Williams of the Fujian SBS won the Slam Dunk Contest which was full of misses, while Lin Zhijie of the Guangsha won the Skill Challenge.

The NBA needs stars like LeBron James in its dunk contest to help sustain what was once the highlight of the All-Star weekend. The CBA doesn’t have that luxury. Enjoy the cloaks and missed dunks China.

Basketball Ambassador Stephon Marbury and the Shanxi Zhongyu lost Starbury’s first game in the Chinese Basketball Association 102-101 in a game highlighted by its cheerleaders, and lowlighted by fans throwing bottles and lighters on the court. Cedric Simmons hit one of two free throws with five seconds left to give the visiting Dongguan Leopards a one-point lead. Shanxi inbounded the ball to Marbury following a timeout, but the NYPG passed instead of taking the game-winning shot.

Marbury finished the game with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. He was 0-6 from downtown. It’s hard to judge his performance without seeing the whole game but I’ll give him a C anyways. He’s gotta take the last shot. Shanxi didn’t bring him to China to pass to Maurice Taylor in the final seconds.

Stephon Marbury landed in China last week to a gang of Chinese media and fans that were excited to have the former NBA star playing in the Chinese Basketball Association. They were so happy to have Marbury in their country that they gave him a Twitter account. He hasn’t offended anybody yet but tweets like “To the friends who does not understand English, check out this” are classic.

Former NBA player Bonzi Wells took $80,000 to ball in China, lit it up for a few weeks, and then went on a a permanent vacation from the team and country. And he wasn’t eating vaseline on Youtube or behaving in a way that had people questioning his sanity.

Stephon Marbury signed with the Shanxi Zhongyu of the Chinese Basketball Association and should be able to put up decent numbers in a league that makes the European leagues look like prison ball. The fans and media came out to greet him when he landed in the Taiyuang Airport and everybody was smiling.. For now.

I’m giving Marbury a month before he hauls ass for home. Once the initial buzz of people wanting to see him play wears off Marbury’s interest in playing will wear off. A sure sign that things won’t end well: Sina.com.cn has already given Marbury a Twitter account. I can’t believe the Chinese didn’t do their homework.

Stephon Marbury seems to be doing all the things necessary to land back in the NBA next season. He’s showing up at a Knicks game and sitting in the wrong seats, and making more shirtless videos. This time around there’s no crying or singing.. Just Starbury chillin’ in an Optimus Prime mask.

So now Marbury is copying Matt Forte?.. He’s running out of ideas. He’s already eaten vaseline, and tried to draw attention to himself at Madison Square Garden. Steph is keeping himself in the headlines but it never has to do with basketball and it’s usually embarrassing for him.

Stephon Marbury is a man of his word. It’s been almost two weeks since he said he’d be at the Knicks home opener and sure enough he was there. And so was his video camera.

Marbury claims to be sitting out the NBA season to work on business ventures. So far he’s only been recording himself and putting the videos on Youtube. And they’re not the vaseline eating or crying videos we’ve come to expect from Starbury. Now he’s hanging out at a gas station or trying to bring attention to himself on an escalator at Madison Square Garden.

There’s no doubt that Marbury loves basketball and wants to be around the game whether he’s playing or not. He’s showed up for games in the Garden and LA while not playing. But I don’t know why he would want to be at a Knicks game. Marbury dogged the team in the same article he said he would be at the home opener.

“I’m just talking as a fan and New Yorker who grew up loving the Knicks: why would I give you my money to watch them?” Marbury said. “This is atrocious. Guys coming down court, just raising up 3-pointers from anywhere. The coaching is horrible. What kind of coaching is this?

Stephon needs to put down the video camera, avoid the media, and workout like crazy if he wants to be in the League next year. The odds are already against him so he doesn’t need to make things worse with strange behavior in videos and holding a grudge against Mike D’Antoni.

Our hero left the game shortly after shooting the video above. Steph sat in the wrong seat and when an usher told him he needed to move he took his camera and went home.

The NBA season starts next week but Stephon Marbury will be sitting at home. Or in his car at a gas station talking to fans. Steph says he’s looking to get back in the league next year and I’ll wish him luck, but after those vaseline eating, crying, and shirtless videos this summer there’s no team taking a chance on Starbury.

Stephon is using Youtube and Starburytv to fill his spare time. This video isn’t all that special, just some young chick jockin’ Marbury but it seems like there was something in the air at the 2:37 mark. Why else would Starbury motion for his fan to keep it down?

Stephon Marbury is free at last from the New York Knicks and in the video below he announces he’s playing for the Boston Celtics even though he’s already said he’s going to Beantown. I guess Steph wanted the National Signing Day feel.

I don’t see the Celtics being Stephon Marbury away from repeating as World Champions. If they were landing a James Posey type then I’d say there was change in the balance of power, but as things stand the Cleveland Cavaliers are the best team in the East.
