The NFL season is here and there are always two things that are guaranteed to happen after the first kick-off. People will overreact to early season results and a team will play the “We’ll move to Los Angeles” card.

The settling of a lawsuit in Walnut has kinda sorta cleared the way for Ed Roski’s City of Industry stadium, and put San Diego Chargers fans on alert.

Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers has decided to play on his left knee with two torn ligaments which means we’ll be seeing the “Lights Out” dance whenever he makes a big play. If you’re not a fan of the Chargers the dancing is probably annoying, but there’s a reason Shawne Merriman likes to get down.. It’s in his genes.

Shawne Merriman’s mother Gloria Williams is joined by JacQuetta Clayton, the mother of Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Mark Clayton, for a little bowling alley boogie. I’d comment on Merriman’s mama’s moves, but bad knee or not I’m not trying to see Lights Out.

I don’t know what happened between Randy Moss and his friend that caused her to file a temporary restraining order, but this is how you get in front of the situation. Roger Clemens take notes. Granted, Moss waited until the situation went public, but what could he do? It’s not like he could just call the reporters over and say hey guys in the next couple of days you’re gonna hear that I hit a woman or some shit like that.. It’s not true but you know… you’re gonna hear it so it is what it is..

I don’t have enough details to give an opinion either way. There could be something to this, or it could be a Kwame Brown playoff distraction type of situation. Either way, I don’t see this having the Romo effect on the rest of the New England Patriots.

EA Sports is holding an election for the cover of it’s NFL Tour 2008. It seems like EA is rolling out a new NFL game every week. There’s Madden, NFL Street, NFL Head Coach, NFL Dogfighting, and the hardest game of all, NFL Black Quarterback. Here’s what EA’s latest installment is all about:

NFL Tour is a new NFL licensed video game that offers players a fun and engaging experience with the NFL and its talented players. Gamers will be able to embark on a fictional NFL road show. With real NFL players as teammates, players will travel across the country to play against each of the NFL teams in newly designed stadiums. As players defeat each of the NFL squads, they come one step closer to winning a NFL contract.

According to Mr. Merriman he’s tough, soo pretty, and he hears them cry when they see him coming. That was a step up from Taylor’s vid. Wooo!!

If Dwight wins, I hope they wake him up for the cover shoot. I’d have to give my vote to Merriman if it’s based on these commercials, Freeney if it’s based on “team success”, and Taylor if it’s based on bad acting.
