Sammy Sosa Peddling Joke Inducing Skin Cream

Sammy Sosa finally showed his face about the strange change in his looks. He’s been using a bleaching cream to help his skin recover from the years of being in the sun. I thought he was suffering a skin reaction to a Halloween mask or a side-effect from performance-enhancers. I’m glad it’s nothing serious but I’m disappointed in Sosa.

It’s cool for him to ruin his body and face with whatever products he wants but now Sammy is pitching the skin bleaching cream. He’s crazy if he thinks anybody looked at the pictures of him and said “I gotta do that.” Here’s the report from Fox News via Breitbart TV via Sports by Brooks.

Nobody’s buying it.. Especially Charles Barkley. The Wagon has something to say about everything so naturally he clowned Sammy Sosa on the NBA on TNT. The Wagon had bleaching cream applied to his face after breaking some news to Sosa.

“I know you want to get in the Hall of Fame but going white ain’t the way to go. You’re not going to get in the Hall of Fame just by going white. Sammy you deserve the Hall of Fame but you can’t just go white.”

Ozzie Guillen has Advice for Sammy Sosa

Ozzie Guillen’s Chicago White Sox have taken three out of five from the crosstown Cubs this season as the two teams streak in opposite directions. The Cubs, like Sammy Sosa’s stock, are dropping at a November 2008 rate, but Guillen knows how Sosa can stop his freefall: By telling the truth.

From the Chicago Tribune:

“If that’s the truth, come out and say it, because that is going to help you,” Guillen said before his Sox’s 6-0 victory over the Cubs on Sunday. “You are not talking about a crime scene. You are not doing something that people should be ashamed of. Some people are very heartbroken … everyone who is a fan. But you should go out there and admit it if you are guilty. People will forgive you. But when you admit it, [say it] like you mean it.”

“And if it is not the real thing, just say that it is a bunch of bull and move on,” Guillen said. “But I would say that to anyone who got caught with [steroids]. Hey, man, admit it and hopefully people will forgive what you did and you can move on. But the longer you keep [quiet], there are going to be doubts and more doubts and more doubts. Then you are going to be screwed.”

Ozzie’s the best. And he’s right. Andy Pettitte and Jason Giambi (sorta) came clean about steroids and you rarely hear them mentioned in the same breath with PEDs now unless it’s in reference to them coming clean and getting a pass. At the same time, all Sosa would be telling is what we already know. He used steroids and then acted like he couldn’t speak English when Congress wanted to talk to him. No surprises there.

In 1998 Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire put Major League Baseball on their acne covered backs, and slugged the slumping sport out of its post-work stoppage funk. We don’t know for sure that Slammin’ Sammy was using PEDs during the five-year span when he had 292 jacks, but this picture proves he’s juicing now.

Is that Sammy Sosa or Pat Riley? or Eddie Munster? That’s a bad look for Sammy but nothing beats this classic baseball card.

Sammy Sosa was recently in El Salvador doing something or other and showing off his slicked-back look. Here’s some video of the trip. Understanding Spanish will help.

I obviously like talking about sports. I like to talk strategy, I like to talk trades. I’m fascinated by the political and financial sides of the game. I also enjoy the quirky, humorous parts of the sports world.

A while back, my boy B-Wiz and me were trippin on how many baseball players have double initials.. Like Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonds or Brett Boone and Bob Boone. The Wolf, who claims to have struck out something like 14 batters in a Division VII college baseball game, dropped a couple too, so I gotta give him a pound. There are examples of D.I.’d athletes in other sports (Mark Martin, Lisa Leslie, Fred Funk), but by our calculations, MLB easily has the most. Here’s a portion of our list:
