Running back Ryan Grant of the Green Bay Packers had a breakout season last year which earned him the honor of being roasted. Phil Simms was the emcee for the evening together with Justin Tuck and Brandon Jacobs of the New York Giants servings as roasters. This clip features Grant’s high school buddy Steve Fortunato taking shots at Ryan and the special guests.

Fortunato wasn’t too funny but he had some moments. I thought the crack on Phil Simms about Jeff Hostetler taking over was alright, and the part about Ryan Grant leaving the Giants and they win the Super Bowl and him joining the Packers and Favre retires was pretty good. Since it was a roast, and Ryan Grant went to Notre Dame, I’m surprised he didn’t get Dana Jacobson to emcee the event. Fighting Irish head coach Charlie Weis must have killed the idea.

Flava’s reality career earned him enough recognition to get roasted on Comedy Central. The event was hosted by comedian Katt Williams and Flava got roasted by the likes of Snoop Dogg and Jimmy Kimmel. It was the typical CC roast.. there were good jokes, racial jokes, sexual jokes, and bad jokes. Sports occasionally made it’s way onto the show. Here are the sports related jokes from Flava Flav’s Roast:

Greg Giraldo to Jeff Ross: “Jeff Ross, Jeff how are ya? Jeff just hosted some ridiculous talent show on ABC. A talent show?!? Where do you get the balls to host a talent show? You running a talent show is like Michael Vick running the ASPCA.”

Pretty easy joke. But I’ll let Greg slide because he went on to…..

Greg Giraldo Extra: (To Jimmy Kimmel) “You just had your appendix out. Apparently you can get appendicitis from being overrated.”

If you can get appendicitis from being overrated, Charlie Weis should be getting his appendix out any day now.

Sommore to Flava Flav: “Not only are you dark, but you’re skinny. You look like Magic Johnson should look.”

Well, Magic does look great, all things considered.

Jimmy Kimmel on Lisa Lampanelli: “She almost didn’t make it tonight. Up until 6 O’clock this morning she was chained up to a truck axle in Michael Vick’s backyard.”

I think Jimmy made this up because I didn’t see it in the indictment.

Jimmy Kimmel on Flava Flav: “Chris Benoit is a better father than Flava Flav“.

Good lawd. Can somebody check the date? My calendar says Jimmy’s a few weeks early with the Benoit material.

Jimmy Kimmel Extra: “This roast is environmentally conscious. It’s Comedy Central’s first carbon neutral television show. Hey listen, Comedy Central, if you wanna stop polluting the atmosphere, cancel Mind of Mencia…Thank you.”

Ok, the stats are off, but Katt’s a comedian not a statistician. I woulda gone with Detlef Schrempf or Kirilenko but I’m a blogger not a comedian.
