Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young showed up at the team’s practice on Thursday and by all accounts appeared to be in a good mood. VY has been caught up in a mix of truth, rumor, and assumption since he departed Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spoke with reporters about what really happened Sunday night.

I want to believe Vince but it’s hard. Nobody would know him better than his mama and if his mama didn’t think he was in a good state of mind, he probably wasn’t. Hopefully this situation has gotten Vince Young’s mind right and he’s good to go in a few weeks when he’s healed.

Vince started the venture because he knows football doesn’t last forever, and he has to prepare for the future.

“What he wanted to do was get into a business while he was playing,” said Major Adams, Vince’s agent. “He’s looking out for his future now, because he knows the NFL is not for long. He’s trying to prepare himself for life after football.”

I’m glad to see VY is being smart and making some extra money. I hate hearing about former athletes being broke a few years after retirement. An added bonus is now Vince can supply the meat the next time he throws a sausage party.

Quarterback Vince Young of the Tennessee Titans is answering questions from YouTube members, and letting us know he’s glad Mike Heimerdinger has replaced Norm Chow as offensive coordinator. Vince is asked what are the differences between the two coaches and repeatedly mentions that Heimerdinger is aggressive and unpredictable.

VY is obviously taking shots at Norm Chow and goes on to say that Mike Heimerdinger is finally going to turn him loose. Vince is talking like he’s gonna lead the Titans to the playoffs. If he’s truly more comfortable in Heimerdinger’s system I say he backs it up.

Brett Favre may or may not be retired for real, but either way he’ll be involved with the NFL during the 2008-09 season. The latest suitors for Favre’s services come from FOX with hopes of teaming up Brett with Bradshaw. Barry Switzer gave the scoop to Scout.com which I picked up via Awful Announcing.

“Well, they’re talking to Favre,’’ said Switzer as we both attended OU’s Honorary Degree luncheon on the school’s campus. “I still think they want me involved in some way. But with Brett. … they might pair him in a segment with (Terry) Bradshaw, I don’t know. … It’s a lot of fun for me, but there’s only so much time (available) on that show. And, hey, he’s Brett Favre!’’

The country has a five-percent unemployment rate but don’t tell Brett Favre. He could have a number of quarterback jobs if he made himself available, and if he doesn’t play football he’s jumping to broadcasting.. A move I don’t like.

Everybody loves Brett Favre, and he knows more football than 99 percent of the population, but will he be able to convey that knowledge to the public in an entertaining fashion? I don’t see it. What I do see is Brett being able to tell some good football stories with TB yuckin it up in the background. That would be fun.. For a few weeks.

Dallas Cowboy fans everywhere are hoping US Weekly’s claim that quarterback Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson could get engaged is an early April Fool’s day joke. There’s no way the Cowboy faithful are gonna allow the Human Jinx into the stadium. Is this a believable rumor? The source is Michael Starr, a close friend of Romo’s and he tells US Weekly:

“I think they’re going to get married.”

Sounds official to me… Or like a publicity stunt put together by Jessica Simpson’s dad. Whether it’s true or not, former Tony Romo girlfriend Sophia Bush thinks the kids can make it:

“I think they could go the distance. They’re perfect for each other. They’re both funny and wonderful and kind. I’m rooting for them.”

Aaahh isn’t Sophia Bush sweet? And full of crap. What woman is rooting for ex-boyfriend to have a successful new relationship? That would almost be like Nick Lachey giving Romo and Jessica the thumbs up.. Oh wait a second..

“I wish her nothing but happiness. If she’s found that… good for her.”

That’s Nick’s nice way of saying “I’m glad I’m done with that crazy broad and good luck to Tony Romo”. If this is true,, good luck indeed.

It was a little over a week ago when Tony Romo proved he wasn’t a “cat” to Jessica Simpson. Tony got on stage with some rockers and channeled his inner boy band member for his woman.. And then, as you can tell from the picture, Tony had to help Jessica’s seemingly drunk ass into the car… And speaking of Romo and being drunk, Jimmy Kimmel’s cousin Sal must be hitting the sauce hard and often. He allegedly gave his newborn son Romo as a middle name.. For the kid’s sake, I’m glad he was born now and not earlier. Having a middle name of Bledsoe, Carter, or Henson woulda been a lot harder to explain.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is chilling with Jessica Simpson, her family, and some teammates in Mexico.. The week before the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.. Yeah, I’d say he definitely has his eyes on the prize.. And by prize I mean Jessica’s ass.

I don’t wanna tell Tony Romo how to handle his biz, but Jessica can wait. And if she doesn’t, he’s Tony Romo, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.. Look at the women he’s already dated, I’m sure somebody else will come along. I doubt Romo’s gonna listen to me.. It’s not like I’ve ever been an NFL head coach.. But Bill Parcells has, and if you remember Bill Parcells’ 11 Quarterback Commandments, you know Tony Romo is on a path to football damnation.

1. Press or t.v., agents or advisors, family or wives, friends or relatives, fans or hangers on, ignore them on matters of football, they don’t know what’s happening here.

11. Don’t be a celebrity quarterback. We don’t need any of those. We need battlefield commanders that are willing to fight it out everyday, every week, and every season, and lead their team to win after win after win.

I don’t know if anybody from #1 is trying to give Romo football advice, but I could see Jessica Simpson’s dad pulling Tony to the side and trying to talk x’s and o’s.. And we all know when you’re bangin’ a man’s daughter, the least you can do is listen to his thoughts on your game.. Number 11 is obviously being broken. Tony’s in LA and Mexico during bye weeks, and he invites chicks to the games so he can show off. Romo needs to rein it in before this

I’m almost a week late with this, but here you go. The Philadelphia Daily News polled a wide group of famous people to determine who’s the best quarterback in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles. I only go back to Jaws in my Eagle fandom, and I know Van Brocklin and Jurgensen could play, but Donovan McNabb is the greatest Philadelphia Eagles quarterback of all time. The 5 Pro Bowls, the 4 NFC Championship games, the overall winning.. You can’t beat it. No disrespect to Randall Cunningham… He’s the Pater Familias.

What do you do when you’re a retired quarterback? You offer your opinion on who should be the starting signal caller for your former team. At least that’s what Bernie Kosar does:

‘‘People think because me and Charlie (Frye) are friends that’s why I feel like he’s ready. But just because I like (Frye) doesn’t make him a good quarterback. There’s no correlation. I just thought he did a great job dealing with all the problems the Browns went through last year.’’

Ok, Bernie and Charlie are friends.. That’s cool..

‘‘I think he played great to play average. There was so much that went wrong last year: The running game was non-existent, there wasn’t very good pass protection, guys dropped balls, the offensive system changed in the middle of the year — there were just so many obstacles to overcome. And I thought Charlie did a good job with it.’’

All right Bernie, it sounds like your leaning towards Frye but what about Brady Quinn?

‘‘There couldn’t be a worse-case scenario for a first-year quarterback to start. The Browns are certainly improved from last year. But with Romeo (Crennel) needing to win after a rough season, a new offensive system coming in, not to mention Brady has to learn the differences from college to the NFL — it’s just a very difficult situation.’’

I’m with Bernie when he says Crennel needs to win this year. Romeo’s gonna need a pretty good season to save his job imo. I agree that there’s an adjustment period for rookies. I’m not quite sure what a new system has to do with Brady Quinn.. He didn’t play in the old system. It’s possible Kosar means that a collective offensive unit would benefit from a more experienced quarterback when learning a new offense… Or he’s slightly hatin’. Either way, Brady played for the genius Charlie Weis in a pro style offense. Shouldn’t he be able to pick up on anything?

‘‘I was really well-coached in college. And the same could be said for Brady, coming from Charlie Weiss’ offense at Notre Dame. But you could also say that because that offense was so advanced, Brady didn’t have to deal with a lot of the problems other quarterbacks did.’’

Jeezus.. Brady Quinn should be thanking his lucky stars that Kosar wasn’t around on draft day. Brady might not have gone until the second or third round if Bernie had his say.

After failing to sell his condo, which was listed at $16.5mil, Tom Brady has decided to lease it out. According to reports, Tom has rented the 2,910 square foot unit in New York’s Time Warner building to a financier for 60 grand a month. Brady put the house on the market 3 mos. after buying it for $14mil, and it is expected to go back on the market next year.

Not to be outdone, Doug Flutie got into the real estate game. He picked up a new house for $2.1mil in Melbourne Beach, Florida. It’s his childhood hometown, and the house is rumored to look something like this.
