NFL WEEK 13 PICKS: A WEEKEND OF HONOR

seantaylor21.jpg

I went 9-6 last week, raising my season record to 78-78-9. I’m .500 and my picks are pretty worthless. One thing I’ve noticed is that I don’t have two good weeks in a row, but I can string together some bad weeks. It doesn’t look good for my plays this week because A) Since I was caught up in the Packers/Cowboys hype I forgot to post my side for that game, and B) I liked Green Bay to cover the 7.

I don’t make plays on games involving the Philadelphia Eagles, and the home team is in bold type.

Carolina -3 over San Francisco: I know I’m going against the Panthers never covering at home, but they gotta beat the Niners by a touchdown at home. If they don’t the Panthers should be forced to forfeit the rest of their games.

Jacksonville +6.5 over Indianapolis: He’s probably 3rd or 4th on the list but Jack Del Rio has to be considered for coach of the year. The Jaguars aren’t the sexiest team to watch but they bring it week in and week out.

San Diego -5.5 over Kansas City: The Chiefs stomped the Chargers 30-16 in San Diego and now the Bolts will return the favor.

Miami -1 over NYJ: First off, I’d like to thank Ricky Williams for his cameo appearance in the 2007 NFL season, and I’d like to congratulate the Dolphins in advance for picking up their first win.. One question though.. What is it about the Miami Dolphins and crappy fields? The Phins’ games in London at Wembley Stadium, and in Pittsburgh Monday night both had fields that completely fell apart.

Detroit +4 over Minnesota: I like the Lions here even though they could get caught looking past the Vikes to the Cowboys next week.. A well rested Cowboys team.

Tampa Bay +3 over New Orleans: There’s a lot on the line in this game. The Bucs can all but lock up the NFC south with a victory, and the Saints can keep their playoff hopes alive if they win. The New Orleans defense will let them down again.

St. Louis -3 over Atlanta: No Bulger. Slight problem, but not enough for me to trust the Falcons on the road. The ATL has one road victory this season and that was over Carolina, which as we’ve mentioned a million times, sucks at home.

Tennessee -3.5 over Houston: Buy the half point down to 3, and then watch the Titans defense control the game.

Buffalo +5.5 over Washington

Cleveland +1 over Arizona: Talk about giving one away. The Cardinals are in the NFC playoff mix, but to go out and choke a game away to the San Francisco 49ers (at home) shows that Arizona is probably another year away.

Denver -3.5 over Oakland: We’re buying the half point again, and watching the the Raiders season swirl to an end. Oakland had lost 6 in a row before rising up against Kansas City last week, and now they’ll start a new losing streak.

NYG -1.5 over Chicago: I’m sure the Bears are hyped after their comeback cover victory last week. I had the Broncos and I still can’t believe they let a late 14 point lead get away. It looks like Plax won’t play so Eli will have to lean on Toomer and Shockey more than usual.

Pittsburgh -7 over Cincinnati: If the field in Pittsburgh is still that piece of crap donkey track on Sunday then scrap this pick all together.

New England -20 over Baltimore: I don’t know whether or not the Eagles laid a blueprint for defeating the Patriots, but I do know the Ravens aren’t good enough to beat New England even if they had blueprints, playbooks, and Belichick’s camera crew.

NFL WEEK 7 PICKS: MY BEST PICKS NOW

to-romo.jpg

It seems like my picks are getting worse by the week. That’s because they are. Well no more. I’m proclaiming an end to my rut. I will always pick my best in every game. It’s time for a change and it begins now. I went 4-6-2 last week bringing my ytd record to 38-37-9. Middle of the road.. But that’s all in the past because the are my best picks now.

I don’t take sides in any game involving the Philadelphia Eagles.. For the most part. If they were to make the playoffs, I would include the Eagles in my game predictions. Cleveland, Green Bay, San Diego, and Carolina have the bye week. The home team is in bold type.

Arizona +7 over Washington: It’s gonna be Kurt Warner with tape and a brace on his elbow, or Tim Rattay at qb for the Cardinals. It sounds like either way, it’s gonna end up being Rattay under center. I’m banking on the Redskins looking ahead to playing the Patriots next week.

New Orleans -9 over Atlanta: The Saints can’t be all the way back based on one game, but Atlanta’s struggling. Leftwich takes over Harrington… We’ll see.

Baltimore -3 over Buffalo: The fans in Buffalo are waiting for Willis McGahee. The Bills are coming off a bye week but I still think rookie qb Trent Edwards will be overmatched.

Minnesota +9.5 over Dallas: The Boys will come out with something to prove after getting handled by the Patriots. The Vikings are gonna have to use ball control to stay close in this game.

Miami +16 over New England: I’ve been taking the Patriots until further notice.. This weekend is further notice. I can’t bring myself to pass up 16 points for a NFL team at home. I don’t care who the two teams are. It’s gotta be tough for the Patriots to get it up for Cleo Lemon and the Fish after facing the Dallas Cowboys.

San Francisco +9.5 over NYG: Classic team off of a bye week vs. team that played on Monday night matchup. To tell the truth, I don’t know what the stats are in this situation… It seems like it should add up in favor of Frisco.

Tampa Bay +2 over Detroit: If you look at the stats, neither of these teams are impressive. Tampa’s 4-2 record and the Lions’ 3-2 record are what really matter. Tampa Bay needs the win to take over sole ownership of 1st place in the South, while Detroit is trying to gain ground on the idle Packers. Tampa wins the game.

Tennessee -1 over Houston: This is an if then pick. If Vince plays, I’m going with the Titans. Vince has to play the entire game for this pick to be valid..Yes, I’m hedging.

Oakland -3 over Kansas City: Yawwn..

Cincinnati -6 over NYJ: The Jets are terrible, the Bengals are terrible but Cincy will be less terrible on this day. If Marvin Lewis quits now, he still has time to get his name in the mix for the Yankees job.

Seattle -8.5 over St. Louis: This pick is all about the St. Louis Rams being the biggest disappointment on turf. How many experts picked them to make the playoffs? Hell if I know, but it was a lot.

Pittsburgh -3.5 over Denver: I have to take the Steelers here. Denver hasn’t played up to the level I was expecting from them this season.

Jacksonville +3 over Indianapolis: The Colts are undefeated no more. Jack Del Rio and his team are gonna pull off the upset on Monday Night Football.

NFL PICKS WEEK 6: BILL PARCELLS CRASHED MY SERVER

kurt-warner-arizona.jpg

Little did I know that Bill Parcells’ quarterbacking commandments would bring quite a bit of traffic to YBB.. If you stopped by for yesterday morning, and the site was down, thank Mr. Parcells. I have to say, there are either a lot of aspiring quarterbacks out there, or Bill Parcells is the E.F. Hutton of the NFL studio. Either way, everything’s running smoothly now..As far as last week, wow what a week it was. Dallas pulled out a miracle, Leinart’s season is over, the Steelers stomped the Seahawks, and the Colts and Patriots played like the elite teams that they are. As for me.. I was under .500 (5-8-1, 34-31-7 on the season), and now fun time’s over. It’s time to right this ship.Buffalo, Denver, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Detroit have the bye week. And, as always, I don’t pick for or against my beloved Philadelphia Eagles. The home team is in bold type. Read the full story
