TMZ Sports reports authorities in Los Angeles ticketed Ron Artest yesterday for expired tags on his street legal Indycar. Artest has been driving the red Eagle Roadster all over LA although there’s no word on how long the registration has been expired. While most people hate being pulled over Artest looked like he enjoyed himself.

I’m glad Ron was stopped for something simple like some expired tags and not for drinking and driving.

Larissa Riquelme made headlines during the 2010 FIFA World Cup by strategically placing her cell phone between her breasts, and by promising to run naked through the streets of Paraguay if their selection won the tournament. Paraguay didn’t win the Cup but that hasn’t stopped Larissa from taking off her clothes on numerous occasions. Larissa’s latest effort is in 3D for Playboy Brazil and the pictures are great. LeBron James has taken more crap than he ever imagined for his decision to leave Cleveland for the Miami Heat. And for dunking on little kids. And for anything else he’s done this summer. His interview and photoshoot with GQ magazine aren’t going to help the problem.

LeBron sported a pair of white skinny jeans for one of the pictures and so far Twitter hasn’t been very receptive. The Orlando Magic should be glad LeBron didn’t shake their hands after the 2009 ECF because lately, something’s gone wrong with everything he’s touched.

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo put himself in the “Best PG in the NBA” conversation with his play in the past two postseasons. He nearly averaged a triple double (16.9 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.8 assist) in the 2009 playoffs and followed that with 15 points, five boards and nine dimes in the Celtics’ 2010 run to the Finals. Plus he has the all important ring. Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Steve Nash and Derrick Rose would all gladly give up the honor of best floor leader if they could add champion to their resume.

The jewelry makes all the difference and if you don’t believe me you can read Rajon Rondo’s t-shirt. He shot a 2K11 commercial with Derrick Rose and David Lee yesterday in Los Angeles and his shirt read “I Have A Ring. I’m Better Than Derrick Rose & David Lee.” I can’t wait to see how that plays into the ad.

Rondo took in some LA nightlife after the commercial shoot. He bumped into Arash Markazi (who I assume introduced himself for about 25 minutes) on the red carpet of the Power Balance party at Drai’s Hollywood and the first thing he said was no Shaq questions. Good call. There’ll be plenty of time to talk about Shaq and his new nickname.

2K11 Shoot in LA [Rajon Rondo-Facebook]

The headline says it all. Shawn Marion of the Dallas Mavericks took a picture with actress Charlize Theron. Then he posted it to his Twitter account. There’s no explanation of where the two are or what they were doing but the picture shows Charlize is taller than I thought. She’s listed at anywhere between 5-9 and 5-11 and in heels (presumably) isn’t much shorter than the 6-7 Marion.

Warren Sapp aka @QBkilla tweeted this picture of Cris Collinsworth dressed in what looks like Cincinnati Bengals face paint. There’s no explanation behind the picture so I’ll assume it has something to do with Showtime’s “Inside the NFL.” That, or there’s a side of Cris Collinsworth that I don’t want to know anymore about.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Martellus Bennett is a sports blogger’s dream and an NFL PR department’s nightmare. He’s made more headlines for messing around on Youtube than for playing football. At some point the negative publicity is going to outweigh two-year career stats of 35 catches and four touchdowns.

Bennett’s latest slip-up is taking naked cell phone pictures and sending them to his then girlfriend, now vengeful ex-girlfriend. She gave the flicks to Media Take Out who posted them on the web by first identifying Bennett as Marcellus Wiley. Note to MTO: Marcellus Wiley is the guy Aaron Rodgers hates. Martellus Bennett is the doofus that imitated Osama Bin Laden on 4th of July.

I think I speak for most male sports fans when I say enough with the male athlete nude pics. It’s time for disgruntled ex-boyfriends (and girlfriends) to start leaking pictures of people the average sports fan wants to see. Why do we get Grady Sizemore instead of Allison Stokke? You think Common never took pictures of Serena Williams? C’mon man. This is 2010 and we as a (sports) nation can not stand for female athletes being denied their naked place on the Internet.

I blog for the love of the game. If I wasn’t posting here on the (semi-)daily I’d be down at the library, writing up posts for no reason. That’s just how dedicated I am to blogging. It’s not about the money or fame (which is good because I’m getting neither). It’s about doing what God put me on this planet to do. With that said, it never hurts to know that all the time I’m spending on the computer isn’t going to waste.

YouBeenBlinded.com got a mention on Monday’s “Pardon the Interruption.” It was just a graphic placed over the Ron Artest dodgeball video but it’s all good since Tony and Michael are gonna start shouting out the site at the end of every show…

Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp can be pointed to as one of the reasons LA is scuffling in the NL West. GM Ned Colletti called out Kemp for his play earlier in the season and there’s no question -whether it’s Rihanna related or not- that Matt’s slipped coming off winning Gold Glove and Silver Slugger titles in 2009.

Don’t worry Dodger fans. It looks like Kemp has found a way to turn his season around: Dressing like Michael Jackson.

TMZ Sports reported yesterday that Terrell Owens was very close to signing with the Cincinnati Bengals. Pro Football Talk shot down the story while Bengals QB Carson Palmer told a source that he’s been impressed by TO at workouts in Southern California. So what does it all mean? Nothing until Chad Ochocinco added his two pesos.

@OGOchoCinco confirmed TMZ’s report with two tweets and a Twitpic that say Owens is joining the Bengals.. And that Chad will gladly play the Robin to Terrell’s Batman.

This is the picture Ochocinco linked to. I guess he’s more LeBron than Kobe.

2nd half betting picks via text message

TO has lost a step and can be a pain in the ass in the locker room but this is a good place for him. The Bengals need help at wide receiver (Antonio Bryant is coming off of an injury and Matt Jones is ehhh right now.) and with their running game and defense in place, Owens makes them a little bit better.
