It’s good to see that even though the Diesel’s running low on fuel a beat is all it takes to get him revved up to pop lock. I could say that Shaq needs to learn some new dance moves because those are basically the same moves he used in his battle with Dwight Howard, but I’m gonna leave that where it is.

At least now Grant knows he can scratch rapper and dancer from his list of possible jobs in the afterleague. I never thought Grant Hill would be the athlete on YouTube singing about somebody having a big ole butt. What’s next? David Eckstein rapping some Too Short?

**UPDATE 11-10-09** Shaunie O’Neal files for divorce from Shaquille O’Neal.

Shaquille O’Neal and his wife Shaunie have been working on saving their marriage for a while, and now the couple feels comfortable in saying that they’re staying together. Well at least Shaunie O’Neal does.

Ms. O’Neal was being interviewed by the Associated Press about her new video sharing Web site when she spoke on her marriage.

“Neither one of us could probably answer why we were getting one in the first place.”

“Things have been going so great, that someone actually had to remind us that ‘Hey, you do remember those papers are still there.’ Literally, it was days ago. So, we’ve agreed that before we leave Florida in a few days we’ll make sure that that’s gone away.”

Sounds like they’ve worked things out. Or that Shaq thought about the financial hit he was gonna take and let bygones be bygones. Or he thought about the ammo this would give Kobe’s revenge rap and decided to bite the bullet.

Shaquille O’neal is living in Emmitt Smith’s old Phoenix area crib so he has no need for his South Beach estate. The home has been on the market for nearly a year with no takers, forcing Shaq to lower the price tag.

At least the drops in price allow Shaq to add The Big Slasher to his list of nicknames for himself. The home was built by Rony Seikaly in 1992, and Shaquille paid nearly $19 million for it in 2004. O’Neal thought he had sold the home last November, but New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez walked on the deal. If and when Shaq sells the place he’ll have to change the line about Diddy livin next to him in his Kobe Bryant diss.

As soon as the Boston Celtics clinched the NBA championship I sent a text to one of my boys asking “How happy do you think Shaq is right now?” After listening to The Big Biggie’s latest, the answer to the question is “very”.. Even if Shaq is telling Stephen A. Smith that there’s no beef between himself and Kobe. The easiest way to tell that two people are getting along well is when one of them makes a diss track about the other.

Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant didn’t get along in Los Angeles for a number of reasons, but the straw that broke the Diesel’s back stemmed from Bryant’s 2003 arrest. Kobe made some comments to the police regarding Shaq’s handling of women on the side and of course those statements were leaked. It only took five years for Shaq to respond and I’m glad he did.

After spending several verses shredding Kobe apart for losing in the NBA playoffs, Shaq drops the line, “I’m a horse, Kobe ratted me out, that’s why I’m getting divorced.”

The line most likely references a comment Kobe made during his infamous 2003 rape case, when he told Colorado police that he “Should have done what Shaq does … Shaq would pay his women not to say anything.” The two became famously bitter rivals after the incident.

I thought Shaq and Kobe made up? I guess that deal is off.

The way I see it Kobe has two options of how to go back at Shaq.

This is a disturbing WTF?!? find. Watching Shaq clown for the camera is cool, watching him drop his pants and do a puppet show with his ass cheeks isn’t something I wanted to see.. But it coulda been worse. I coulda been Fieldy from Korn and had a front row seat.

Shaquille O’Neal was brought to Phoenix to deliver the Suns a championship, but we’ll have to wait until next year to see if he can make good. The early playoff exit this year has given O’Neal time to brush up on his police work. First duty: Get the people of the Pascua Yaqui Reservation to give $75,000 to the Tempe Police Department.

The Tempe PD applied for a 75k grant from the tribe after Shaq and Pascua Yaqui chairman Peter Yucupicio became buddies. The money will be used to help begin a new Internet Crimes Against Children Unit in Tempe.

When I look at the picture above, The Big Cactus just looks big. I’m gonna say it’s the camera angle unless Shaq was holding his stomach in when he addressed the crowd.

Can you imagine Shaquille O’Neal as the Big Chris Hansen? The should give Shaq his own Dateline show, and let him try to bust professional athletes. Roger, Karl, why don’t you have a seat?

This tribute to the Phoenix Suns’ Grant Hill was shot in 1994, and placed an impossible burden on his shoulders and ankles.

“If God ever wanted to start a production line for the creation of athletes and kings, he would locate it in Janet and Calvin Hill’s home.”

I guess God was gonna do this after Grant moved out because when he was born, his parents house was a production line for really good guys with great college careers that saw their NBA legend status cut down by injuries.. All that plus Tamia? Grant Hill might not be Jesus but he’s done all right.

Now that one game has been played in each series of the NBA playoffs it’s time for people to overreact to the outcomes. We’re constantly reminded that 79% of game one winners go on to win the series, and if that number holds true six of the eight match-ups have already been decided. That’s bad news for me. Three of the teams (Phoenix, Dallas, Detroit) I picked to advance to the next round lost their first game.

I’m not worried about two of the teams.. Sometimes things happen. The third team has me in a one game panic. Here are a few things I noticed after two days of action:

1. Phoenix is OK: Shaquille O’Neal and Amare Stoudemire played a combined 76 out of a possible 116 minutes. Yes Phoenix had control of the game and let it slip away, but if Shaq-n-Stat stay on the court and out of foul trouble, San Antonio won’t be able to handle the Suns.

2. Detroit forgot to flip the switch: The Detroit Pistons will still win their series but they’re proving why they won’t go to the NBA Finals. I won’t even start on Sheed’s antics with the game in the balance. A team with true championship aspirations doesn’t assume victories. Since winning the championship in 2004 the Pistons have walked around like they’re the 90s Bulls. This loss probably woke them up, but if Detroit thinks getting to the Eastern Conference finals is gonna be easy from here on in, they’re dreaming.

3. The Boston Celtics are The Great Debaters:

I wonder what topics are up for debate on the Celtics bench during a playoff game. Health care? Immigration? ‘Yes or No?’ with the Boston Celtic cheerleaders? Garnett says everything isn’t “peaches and cream” in Boston.. He obviously doesn’t keep up with the New York Knicks situation.

4. Dwight Howard might really be Superman: Dwight Howard dominated both ends of the floor by dunking and blocking shots. 25 points, 22 rebounds, and 5 blocks barely explains how Howard controlled the game. The win was Orlando’s first playoff victory since 2003. It looks like this is the year the curse of Shaq is broken. No organization that has gotten rid of Shaquille O’Neal has won a playoff series since he left… And now it will happen twice in the same season.

5. The Denver Nuggets are who Denny Green thought they were: The Nuggets shot more free throws(37 to 32), out rebounded the Lakers by two, saw Kobe Bryant only play 37 minutes, and still managed to get blown out. Los Angeles doesn’t need free throws or rebounds if they’re laying the ball up every time down court.

6. The Wizards and Cavs don’t need to talk anymore: We get it. The Wizards and Cavaliers don’t like each other. The beef between LeBron James, Gilbert Arenas, and DeShawn Stevenson has gone too far if Soulja Boy is being mentioned during an NBA telecast. Soulja Boy will be dropping his Pro-Wizards/Anti-LeBron rap in 3.. 2.. 1..

7. There’s always next year for Houston: The Rockets trailed after every quarter against the Jazz and never played like the team that won 22 games in a row. I know Houston likes to shoot the three but if the refs are sending you to the free throw line 29 times it seems like some of those 16 missed three point attempts could’ve been drives in the paint. I don’t wanna be one of those guys that flip flops after every game so I’ll say it now. This series is over.. Even if Houston wins game two.

8. Maybe Chris Paul is the MVP after all: Psych.. Kobe’s the MVP but Chris Paul is a close second. The playoffs have nothing to do with MVP balloting but CP3’s first game in the playoffs showed why people think he’s the best young PG in the game. Paul had 35 points, 10 assist, three boards, four steals, and only one turnover. All on Jason Kidd’s watch. I picked the Mavs to win this series so they better figure out a way to corral Chris Paul if I’m gonna be right.

The San Antonio Spurs have eight or nine guys that should take the game tying 3-point shot instead of Tim Duncan. Timmay had four career playoff three pointers and none this season until he lined up and drilled the shot to send this great game into double overtime. I have the Suns winning in seven, so I’ll say blowing a 16 point first half lead, a late 6 point lead, and allowing Tim Duncan to hit a game tying three are no big deal.. It’s only one game. One hard to swallow game.
