When I posted the video of Tiger Woods putting a Rubik’s Cube I thought the shot was digitally enhanced. I know Tiger’s a bad mofo, but I thought knocking down a block of plastic from 10 feet on the first try was impossible. This behind the scenes video from the EA Sports commercial shoot shows that it was all real.

Seeing Tiger putt the cube like that makes me believe it.. A little. For all I know EA Sports could have faked the behind scenes too.

Call me crazy but I assumed a brotha that plays golf would be a fan of hockey. This is not the case for one Eldrick Tiger Woods. The Great One on the links was speaking via satellite during a news conference at Oakland Hills Country Club when he was asked which team he’s rooting for in the Stanley Cup finals.

“I don’t really care. It’s all about the Dodgers. I don’t think anyone really watches hockey anymore.”

Ok, he’s right. Nobody watches the NHL anymore, but it’s only because nobody knows where to find the NHL on television. As far as Tiger being a Dodgers fan, that’s cool. He’s an Orange County guy so the Angels would be more understandable, but at least he’s not front running and showing up in the stands at Rays and Marlins games.

I thought this story had been put to rest a long time ago, and I was wrong. The Irish magazine The Dubliner has issued an official apology to Elin Nordegren Woods and agreed to pay “substantial” damages for publishing photos they claimed to be Elin Nordegren nude. I don’t know how much “substantial” is, but with Tiger Woods climbing towards a billion bucks, this isn’t about the money. It’s about clearing Elin’s name.

The photos turned out to be Playboy model Kim Hiott, and you can check her out after this barely SFW jump.

What was I typing about? Oh yeah… This isn’t Elin Nordegren Woods, but Kim Hiott is looking damn hiott (no i, drop a t) in this pic.

The golfer Tiger Woods has missed the baptism in Sweden of his three-month-old daughter, Sam, according to Swedish media reports. One source close to the family said: ““Everybody was very surprised over the fact that Tiger did not show up.”

Now, before you go off on Tiger, I’m sure he had a perfectly legitimate reason for not being at the baptism ceremony.. If being at a celebrity charity event in Los Angeles can be considered a perfectly legitimate reason… And to me it is.. He’s Tiger Woods, the world should adjust to his schedule. He can’t be expected to fly halfway around the world for some kiddy baptism when he can be out and about, partying with the likes of Terri Hatcher.

The PGA is gonna try to drum up interest in the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a series of “Golfer meets Athlete” commercials. Go here if you have no idea about the Cup and how it works. The running theme is the golfers are seeking advice because they’re in their first playoff. Here’s a Tiger commercial, which according to this article, is not the one that will be running. The official commercial shows Tiger lacing up his shoes and whistling “Eye of the Tiger”. He’s sticking with the “No living man shall tell me shit” theme in this ad:

I don’t know when that was shot, but Tiger’s been eating better since then.

It’s gonna happen one day. I’ll be sitting somewhere, watching a game, and then wham.. I’ll become a new school hater. “Nobody can be better than Joe Montana”. “Michael Jordan is the greatest of all time”. I’ll be defending the steroid era. I’ll do anything other than accept that the players of that day are better than the players I grew up with.

And so it is for former PGA player Mac O’Grady. He has a disdain for all things new and Tiger Woods. After failing to qualify for the Buick Open, Mac-Grady dropped this:

“When Nicklaus and Palmer played, when (Ben) Hogan played and Sam Snead played, on a scale of zero to 10, they were a nine-plus. Tiger Woods is not even a one-plus.”

He’s gotta be kidding. “Not even a one-plus”? That’s just stupid. He killed his credibility right out the gate. Even as a hater you’d have to call Tiger a 6+. To say “not even a 1+” means what, zero+? Ok man.. O’Grady says the technology is to blame:

“The reason why (Woods) can hit it on the green is because he has square grooves. He doesn’t have that, he’s dead. He cannot do it — it’s impossible. For him to go after Nicklaus’ records is cheating. This is like steroids.”

Tiger using legal equipment is cheating? Somebody needs to explain that one to me. Ole Mac’s starting to sound like a guy that wouldn’t have been happy when Aaron passed Ruth. I never realized that having “square grooves” was akin to injecting one’s self with performance enhancing drugs. And of course he found time to mix Michelle Wie into the conversation too:

“What Michelle Wie is doing is not humanly possible. It’s technologically possible because the balls go too straight, they go too far.”

All the credit goes to the clubs and the balls, not to the golfer. Tiger’s only good because of his sticks. That’s what I’m reading from Mac. Of course the equipment’s better now, and yes it helps, but it’s not the only reason guys are better today. Mac can feel how ever he wants about his heroes, but to diminish what Tiger has done only makes O’Grady sound like a fool.

But who am I to talk? I’m labeling O’Grady as a bitter old-timer, but for what? There’s no point since I’ll be just like him in a couple of decades. I’m gonna hate every player in the 2020s and beyond. I’m not gonna like how the bats are made, basketball will be too international, and football will be too soft. NASCAR will be the shit though.. Since the cars will be able to fly….But it was still better in my day.
