I thought this story had been put to rest a long time ago, and I was wrong. The Irish magazine The Dubliner has issued an official apology to Elin Nordegren Woods and agreed to pay “substantial” damages for publishing photos they claimed to be Elin Nordegren nude. I don’t know how much “substantial” is, but with Tiger Woods climbing towards a billion bucks, this isn’t about the money. It’s about clearing Elin’s name.

When Steve Williams isn’t carrying Tiger Woods’ bag, he still likes being involved in competition. After a season of caddying for Tiger, Steve Williams relaxes like any million dollar making, glorified luggage handler would.. By racing cars:

“I love pressure, I thrive on it. I love a challenge. Tonight was a classic example of that. A lot of effort goes into organising an event like this, getting all the cars together and going through all the rules. It’s a tremendous relief just to get out there and drive.”

I thought Steve Williams would have been done with the Saloon car racing after his accident back in 2005.. And even though Tiger Woods raced in Williams’ charity event, you know he’s not thrilled with his right hand man reliving Days of Thunder in his spare time. Anybody know the Kiwi equivalent for redneck?

When little Sam Alexis was born, pundits worried how much golf Tiger would miss in order to be with his child. If this weekend is any indication, you can expect to see Mr. Woods all over the links in ‘08.

The golfer Tiger Woods has missed the baptism in Sweden of his three-month-old daughter, Sam, according to Swedish media reports. One source close to the family said: ““Everybody was very surprised over the fact that Tiger did not show up.”

Now, before you go off on Tiger, I’m sure he had a perfectly legitimate reason for not being at the baptism ceremony.. If being at a celebrity charity event in Los Angeles can be considered a perfectly legitimate reason… And to me it is.. He’s Tiger Woods, the world should adjust to his schedule. He can’t be expected to fly halfway around the world for some kiddy baptism when he can be out and about, partying with the likes of Terri Hatcher.

The PGA is gonna try to drum up interest in the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a series of “Golfer meets Athlete” commercials. Go here if you have no idea about the Cup and how it works. The running theme is the golfers are seeking advice because they’re in their first playoff. Here’s a Tiger commercial, which according to this article, is not the one that will be running. The official commercial shows Tiger lacing up his shoes and whistling “Eye of the Tiger”. He’s sticking with the “No living man shall tell me shit” theme in this ad:
